### Sabbath Afternoon Bible Study:
"What Matters in Life: Being a Change
Maker"
#### Introduction
Welcome, dear youth, to our Sabbath
afternoon Bible study. Today, we delve
into a topic close to our hearts: making a
difference in our lives and the world
around us. We'll explore the importance
of being change makers, understanding
God's calling for us, handling finances
wisely, and staying away from
corruption.
#### 1. Understanding God's Call
**Bible Verse:**
- Jeremiah 29:11: "'For I know the plans I
have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans
to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.'"
**Encouragement from Ellen G.
White:**
- "In His word, God has committed to
men the knowledge necessary for
salvation. The Holy Scriptures are to be
accepted as an authoritative, infallible
revelation of His will." (The Great
Controversy, p. vii)
God has a unique plan for each of us. He
calls us to be His ambassadors in the
world, spreading His love and truth
through our actions.
#### 2. Making a Difference
**Bible Verse:**
- Matthew 5:16: "In the same way, let
your light shine before others, that they
may see your good deeds and glorify
your Father in heaven."
**Encouragement from Ellen G.
White:**
- "The followers of Christ are to be the
light of the world; but God does not bid
them make an effort to shine. He says,
let your light shine." (Thoughts From the
Mount of Blessing, p. 40)
We are called to make a positive impact
wherever we are, whether at school,
work, or in our communities. By
reflecting Christ's character, we can
influence others for good.
#### 3. Handling Finances Wisely
**Bible Verse:**
- Proverbs 3:9-10: "Honor the Lord with
your wealth, with the firstfruits of all
your crops; then your barns will be filled
to overflowing, and your vats will brim
over with new wine."
**Encouragement from Ellen G.
White:**
- "The question of using money right is a
test of your character." (Testimonies for
the Church, Vol. 6, p. 452)
God blesses us with resources not just
for our own benefit but also to bless
others. Let's discuss practical ways to
manage our finances, prioritize giving,
and save wisely.
#### 4. Avoiding Corruption
**Bible Verse:**
- Proverbs 11:3: "The integrity of the
upright guides them, but the unfaithful
are destroyed by their duplicity."
**Encouragement from Ellen G.
White:**
- "In business transactions, every
departure from the principles of strict
honesty reacts upon us, and whatever
affects others through our influence
affects us in the same degree."
(Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 4, p.
311)
Corruption destroys trust and
undermines our witness as Christians.
Let's commit to integrity in all our
dealings, whether at home, school, or in
our careers.
#### Conclusion
Dear youth, today we have explored
what truly matters in life: fulfilling God's
call, making a difference, handling
finances wisely, and avoiding corruption.
As we go forward, let's remember to
pray for God's guidance and strength to
live as change makers in our generation.
Let's reflect on these words from Ellen
G. White:
- "God has called us to make use of every
opportunity and capability in doing
good." (Christ's Object Lessons, p. 364)
May God bless you abundantly as you
continue to grow in faith and serve Him
faithfully. Amen.
