SMART PRACTIES TO INCREASE EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION

Abstract
Employees are the valuable asset of an organization as they play an important role in achieving
organization objectives . They carry out the activities which are necessary for developing and
expanding thr productivity of good and services . The term motivation means to encouraging
someone to boost up their creativity skills, energy and performance . Employees can raise their
employees motivation by giving them recognition and reward by appraisal .This report includes a
brief study on motivation , employee motivation , impact of increasing employee motivation in
workplace.The purpose is to find out the ways of motivation with its effectiveness. The outcomes
of research will define why to increase motivation of employees , effect of motivated employees
are successfully motivated or not.

INTRODUCTION
Work motivation is considered “ A set of energetic forces that originate both within as well as
beyond an individual being , to iniriate work related behavior, being ,to initiate work related
behavior , and to determine its form direction intensity and duration”. Literature has identified
several models of work motivation . One of the primary of work motivation. One of the primary
model is Maslow’s need hierarchy thory , which propose that humans fulfill a set of need ,
including physiological , safety and security , be longingness , esteem ,and self actualization .

Employees
An employee is a person who is paid for the work performed . The work has been assigned to
them by their superior authority . Employees work for the benefit of the organization so as to
make their own benefit in the monetary terms as well as for making their goodwill. An employee
is assigned with a particular task, after completing their task they are reward for their effective
performance .Employee has to work for achieving the goals of the organization in goals of the
organization in the best possible manner . An employee is trained, guided and directed by their
superior,there are mainly three types of employees;

MOTIVATION
The word motivation is derived from the word “movere” which means “to move” . The motivation
is a combination of causes and effort in our daily lives . An individual can be said motivation if he
and she work enthusiastically, creatively and with full of energy for achieving their goal .
Motivation can make an individual to make his or her old habits into new and developed ones.

INTRINSIC MOTIVATION

It is the motivation which engages an individual in task or he himself complete a work on his own
wish without any external reward or any pressure . It gives internal reward to an individual.
When a person works with full of his pleasure, he is said to be intrinsically motivated. Employees
who are intrinsically motivated can be more productive in their work as they perform well in the
workplace on their own wish. Working with people in group is also involved in intrinsic
motivation , which increase employee communication , leadership and social skills .

TYPES OF INTRINSIC MOTIVATION

EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION-

Extrinsic motivation is when an individual engages himself in an activity with the motive of
external rewards. This motivation is not come from inside it comes from outside oneself. This
motivation can be tangible or intangible in the form of money, appraisal, promotion, prizes.
Extrinsically motivated person work for earnings even if they don’t the work enjoyable. Example
of extrinsic motivation are rewards, awards , winnings, proceeds, encouragement, publicity ,
praise, etc.

Extrinsic motivation is important in workplace as it offers rewards in the form of money for
money for increasing their productivity. Employees who are extrinsic motivation perform their
job with the motive of receiving tangible rewards such as money , appraisal, promotion ,and
benrfits.

Self motivation is very crucial , if the company is at its best or on its way if employee motivation
drop then the turnover and income could follow.

 Employee motivation is an important task as well as it a difficult task. When an employer or


the superior want to motivate their employee , they have to work for the happiness of his
employees.
o On the other side , a motivated employee will work for achiving the set targets by
effective utilization of resources.

RESEARCH METHODS
The main aim of the research was to find ways how to motivate the employees at any
organization . Considering the employee it was reasonable to use the qualitative
research method instead of the qualitatively, Which suits more researches with large
amount of responses. The interview is one of the qualitative research methods and it
can be structured , semi structured , or unstructured. The structured interview
usually produce qualitative data , and with the unstructured interview the purpose is
to gain more of observational data. Therefore , a semi structured interview fit to the
purpose of the research the best . The semi structured interview usually contain
predetermined open ended question , and additionally other question that are
originated during the interview.

Results
Motivation is an important aspect within any organization and consequently ought to
be overseen appropriately if high profitability in the association is normal .
Authoritative administrators should in this manner target impacting positive
representative directs through inspiring them to guarantee that submit their
endeavors towards hierarchical achievement . In any case , directors should begin by
adjusting representative needs with authoritative targets if such duty is normal .
Certain inspiration speculation can assume a significant job in directing authoritative
administrative through the representative inspiration process. This would guarantee
that they receive complellinh persuasive methodologies that can tolerate positive
outcomes.

DISCUSS
A smart worker is a person who works towards, what he perceives to be worth
working for and applies his brain and efforts in the most efficient manner with the
help of integrating of both. It gurarantees successfully results with minimal human
wasted. Working smarter not harder can have benefits such as ; increasing
productivity. By focusing on high value activities, we can maximize our productivity.
