Story
I had ever wanted to own an own castle, but it had been just a dream till last month,
when the king sent me out to settle in a newly conquered area that is now part of
Worlinis, the Golden Kingdom.
The king wants me to set up a castle at a mountain’s edge here in Erithgar, because
there are still some of the aristocrats who reigned here before the war between
Worlinis and the “Southern Union”, an alliance of smaller states, made to invade some
provinces of the Golden Kingdom and defend against Worlinis’ revenge. But this alliance
did not last long as every conquered state tried to save part of his own power by
providing Worlinis with useful information… They all are only miserable betrayers and
cruel thieves who do not at all know what loyalty and bravery are!
But they never give up truly, even if they tell you the would - always trying to
assassinate the new rulers of their countries or planning intrigues… The king shouldn’t
let them alive, even if they swear loyalty to him! And I can’t get rid of the bad feeling
that I have to arrive quickly, if I want enough time to – “Sir, our scouts have bad news!
Some of the Erithgarnians want to rebuild their castles! We must hurry up to get to
this mountain in time before they start with building walls and recruiting a new army to
stop us!” “Men, hurry up! Saddle your horses! Hurry up, if you don’t want to get killed
before we arrive!”, I shouted.
Riding as fast as we can, we finally reach our destination place. May god help us to win!

The Map
This map is part 1 (left on
top) of a greater
landscape, which includes 4
maps.

the result of the mid and
high plateaus, which fall
down at the edge of the
map.
I have worked some time
to get these maps ready to
use and you may find some
helpful things in them, for
this reason, I advise you to
keep your eyes open when
playing them.
For playing with AIs, you should think of where to place some of them carefully,
because, like on almost every map for 8 players, some of them can’t build their castle
right at every spot.
The player in the north-eastern corner will have a long way to his farms, so don’t put
Saladin, who wants to have several apple orchards as well as wheat and hop farms, or a
Pig, who depends on his cheese farms to make his leather armours, here, if you want a
hard game, but place a Sultan or any other AI, who does not depend very much on his
farms and earns most of his money by selling stone and iron. Moat digging on a hill is not
a good idea as well as building a huge castle in all directions when being near the map-
edge! But I think, the map is quite playable within some limits.
In “Berglandschaft” it is best to place your castle close to both, the river (and the
surrounding oasis), and the edge of the map for quite an easy game.
Why? Because you can concentrate on one side when defending, destroy enemies’ farms
before attacking his castle, build many farms for a nice food production and also having
some resources near your keep. You might also use the area on the other side of the
river as a safe source of everything you need!
Wanting a higher difficulty level? No problem, just set your keep on one of the other
spots.
Short-Description
On this map, every Player has enough resources to set up a strong castle. But choose
wisely, where you want to start! Decide, whether you want to do without using big oasis
places, or spend your army fighting for them all the time? Furthermore you should think
precisely about using the lands on the river’s other side! With you not watching the
enemy, this place can get really close!

I hope you will like my map and maybe comment and rate it, so HAVE FUN PLAYING it!
I also would like to receive some tips, if you think that there is something, which could
be done better. If possible without changing the whole map, I will make a few changes
to it and update the download file to even improve its gameplay.
Feel free to edit the map, but please don’t upload it using your name - create your own
maps, I know, you can manage that!
