As they say, “the only thing that is constant is change.
” In this era we live in today, it is
undeniably visible to our sight that the environment is also evolving, and we people are the main
contributors on as to why this change occurs, and it is us who'll always pay the price.
The environment that we have today is most likely composed of big buildings and other
establishments that are used for manufacturing products to produce our necessities and to
satisfy our needs and wants; and that people do things to the environment that can harm it
without them even realizing it, as too much of everything is also bad- these also serve as a
catalyst to affect us people in our daily lives and to other living organisms as well.
If the environment is affected negatively by human acts it will just backfire to us and we
are the one to suffer. A good example here is the air we breathe- oxygen. Without enough trees
and plants there will also be a lack of oxygen, and without it it can cause natural disasters and
or climate change as well.
And even if we say that there is still enough oxygen, we must not forget the acts that
people do to contribute to pollution which then will give us contamination. The air we breathe will
just then give us respiratory illnesses; and this contamination does not only affect us but it is
also extended to life in the marines.
With all these being cited, as a student, I want to spread an awareness that we people
must act accordingly and do the right thing to help our environment and to help ourselves as
well because we are the primary beneficiary of everything that the environment provides. It is
through our little act of compliance and responsibility that the environment can strive again and
again. We must and always protect our main source of living because we are the guardians that
will not think of relinquishing the beautiful scenery of today and tomorrow.
We can plan to conduct a voluntary planting of trees, clean-up drive to lessen wastes on
the forests and bay areas to lessen the harm it can cause to the ones inhabiting it, and or simply
spread the words of what is the status of our environment today and on what are the things we
can do to help through social media backed-up with relevant, feasible and efficient information.
Through these things we can already make a change- to the environment and to ourselves too.
Let us not wait for the worst to come if we are capable of such things in the first place. If
we should act then we must act now. Let there be no room for regrets on the latter as we will do
our best to protect and save the environment- as this will also result if we are to live or not.
I can say that with all these being mentioned, everything really starts from us and no one
else’s. The result will also come from us, and the choice is ours on as to whether we’ll let the
environment get worse or we’ll let it strive for the better. What we give is also what we get, may
it be better or worse- this is the realization that has dawned on me and so we must be able to
discern things and think rationally when it comes to the environment.
