JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE Driver/Courier

DEPARTMENT Office of the Chief Executive Officer

REPORTING TO: Chief Executive Officer

Summary:
The Driver/Courier performs the core function of chauffeur services for the CEO or other high level
officials. He/she will be required to undertake other routine office tasks with a high degree of
confidentiality.

The incumbent must be able to work outside of standard business hours and on weekends and public
holidays to provide chauffeur and other services as required.

Education, Knowledge and Experience

 5 CXC Subjects including English Language.


 Valid Trinidad and Tobago Driver’s License
 Valid Police Certificate of Good Character
 Defensive Driver Certification
 Evidence of Customer Service training

 Proficiency in the use of routine office equipment


 Knowledge of and familiar with routes throughout Trinidad and Tobago
 Highly confidential
 Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
 Ability to work hours outside of the standard business day

 Five (5) years’ working experience providing chauffeur services to an Executive Level Office
Holder

OR

Equivalent combination of Qualification, Training and Experience

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 Collects daily assignment and vehicle keys


 Ensures that the vehicle is clean and ready for use every day.
 Performs routine checks on designated vehicle(s) inclusive of oil and coolant levels, brake
function, lights and tire conditions; records in appropriate logs and takes corrective action as
necessary
 Identifies and requests funds required for fuel top-up, cleaning services etc. in preparation for
vehicle’s use the following day
 Observes any malfunctions in the assigned vehicle(s) and ensures that these are reported to the
Office Administration Department in a timely manner
 Conducts follow-up and provides feedback on repairs done on vehicle(s)
 Delivers and/or collects CEO’s or any other assigned company vehicle for service as per
maintenance schedule(s) or as necessary
 Takes action as required to ensure cleanliness and road worthiness of vehicle(s)
 Collects meals for meetings or other events as directed
 Collects mail, documents, packages from government agencies, private organizations, or
individuals and initials entries in appropriate logs as required
 Delivers documents to named addressees, including Board Directors and initials appropriate
entries as required
 Visits post office(s) and clears mail boxes in accordance with approved schedules
 Pays bills etc. as required by the CEO or other high level official
 Executes personal tasks as may be assigned by the CEO or other high level official
 Provides driving services for other UDeCOTT executive level employees to specified locations as
directed by the CEO
 Maintains communication with the CEO’s Office throughout the day in accordance with standard
procedures

 Performs any other duties as are related to the job function as assigned
