service as basic, standard and urgent.
Freelancer is a job portal which hosts different websites for both international and
national levels. The portal allows a specific number of bids for every freelance which
can be used for submitting a proposal. The bids are renewed on a monthly basis. The
freelance graphic designers are expected to enter their educational qualification,
professional experience as well as their portfolio in the portal.
Peopleperhour is a job platform which connects job seekers and companies across the
globe. The portal works in two ways, and the project is awarded to the freelance graphic
designers through a bidding process. The job seekers can post hourlies of their services
which are accessed by the clients. The clients can also display the job requirements
which are notified to the designers by email, and it is updated on the portal.
Behance is the most popular and known website from where you can get great
designers. Every company prefers designers who have online portfolios of their
designing work; and Behance offers a huge range of designers with online portfolios.

Adobe
Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop is software that is extensively used for raster image editing, graphic design and digital
art. It makes use of layering to allow for depth and flexibility in the design and editing process, as well as
provide powerful editing tools, that when combined, are capable of just about anything.
Adobe Photoshop was originally developed in 1987 by Thomas and John Knoll, and then Adobe Systems
Inc. bought the license to distribute in 1988. Thomas, then in school for his PhD at the University of
Michigan, wrote a program on his Macintosh Plus that basically displayed images on a screen and called
it Display. His brother John, an employee at industrial Light & Magic, convinced him to make it into a full
program. They began to collaborate on it and eventually called it Photoshop, since ImagePro was already
taken. They made a short-term deal with Barneyscan, a scanner manufacturer, to distribute copies of the
program with a slide scanner they were selling; Photoshop shipped 200 copies this way.
John eventually did a demonstration to Apple and Russell Brown, who was then art director at Adobe.
Adobe decided to purchase the license to distribute in 1988. Photoshop 1.0 was released on February
19, 1990 and was exclusive for Macintosh. Each Photoshop release improved upon the last, and it quickly
became the standard in digital photo editing.
Photoshop is specifically designed to allow users to create and edit raster images in multiple layers.
These overlays or layers can support transparency and can also act as masks or filters that can alter
underlying images in the layers below them. Shadows and other effects such as alpha compositing can
be applied. It is also possible of apply several color models to these layers – CMYK, RGB, Spot Color,
and Duotone and Lap color space.
The default file extension for a work in progress is called .PSD (Photoshop Document). A PSD file has a
maximum of 30,000 pixels for width and height and a file length limit of 2 gigabytes. Another type of
Photoshop file is .PSB (Photoshop Big) – it is a large document format and extends the PSD’s maximum
height and width limit to 300,000 pixels and also extends the length limit to around 4 exabytes

04 ABOUT
LAYER VECTOR
STYLES & RASTER GRAPHICS
WHAT IS A LAYER STYLE ?
A layer style is simply one or more layer effects and blending options applied to a layer. Layer effects are things like
drop shadows, stroke, and color overlays.
You can edit styles applied to a layer or create new styles using the Layer Style dialog box.
YOU CAN CREATE CUSTOM STYLES USING ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING EFFECTS:
Drop Shadow : Adds a shadow that falls behind the contents on the layer.
Inner Shadow : Adds a shadow that falls just inside the edges of the layer's content,
giving the layer a recessed appearance.
Outer Glow and Inner Glow :
Add glows that emanate from the outside or inside edges of the layer's content.
Bevel and Emboss : Add various combinations of highlights and shadows to a layer.
Satin : Applies interior shading that creates a satiny finish.
Color, Gradient, and Pattern Overlay : Fills the layer's content with a color, gradient, or pattern.
Stroke : Outlines the object on the current layer using color, a gradient, or a pattern.
It is particularly useful on hard-edged shapes such as type.

04 ABOUT VECTOR
BLENDING MODES & RASTER GRAPHICS
One of the fastest ways to get amazing looking images is by using Blending modes. Each blending mode changes
the way that a layer reacts with the layer underneath it. You get a small inkling of this by adjusting the opacity of a
layer. Using blending modes opens up an entirely new world. These are like sunglasses for your layers that can
become x-ray specs and a whole lot more. There is a scientific explanation of each blending mode in the help menu
of Photoshop. Don’t get too caught up in the definitions. What matters is how it looks and the best way to determine
this is to experiment.
Blending modes are not just present in Layers. You can also find them with the painting tools, the layer styles, smart
filters and other places in Photoshop.
Actions can include steps that let you perform tasks that
cannot be recorded (for example, using a painting tool).
Actions can also include modal controls that let you
enter values in a dialog box while playing an action.
