• Word ‘Frustration’ derived from Latin word ‘Frustra’ meaning
‘Obstruct’.
Frustration
• It refers to the blocking of behavior directed towards the goal.

• Frustration means emotional tension resulting from blocking of a


desire or need.
Characteristics Of Frustration
• It produces an emotional state which is always unpleasant.
• Failure dominates the attempts
• One experiences an obstacle in the satisfaction of one’s basic needs or
goals.
• The strength of blockage increases the degree of frustration.
• The cause of frustration lies both in the individual himself and his
environment.
