Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Orient patients to their physical environment upon admission, i.e.,call lights;
siderails bed control and television.
• Take and record vital signs, height and weight of patients, observe , record
&report and abnormal findings to the physician.
• Assess patient condition.
• Initiate the nursing care process on all patients upon admission.
• Recognize changes in patient’s conditions and takes appropriate nursing actions.
• Record those actions and patients reactions in the nurse’s notes.
• Update the nursing process (care plan) accordingly.
• Perform nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of patients.
• Attend to patients as ordered.
• Make occupied and unoccupied beds.
• Ambulate patients as ordered.
• Answer call lights and reports all unusual conditions accordingly.
• Record input and output.
• Collect specimens from patients for laboratory examination.
 • Observe isolation techniques.
• Give post-mortem care.

• Observes progress of intravenous infusions, maintains prescribed infusion rate
and nurses that I.V site intact.
• Prepares equipment and assists physician during treatment and examinations of
