NOTE:
1. Yard to ensure there is sufficient space between vessel and dock side
in order to carry out hull surface preparation and any other repairs.
2. Vessel to dock and undock during normal working day and normal
working hours unless otherwise advised by Owner's representatives.
3. Should vessel docked or undocked outside normal working hours for
the convenience of the Yard, Owners will not be liable to pay extra
4. Vessel to be docked and upon completion of all underwater works to
be undocked. The docking plan will be provided by owner.
5. For the safety of the vessel and access to underwater sensors, yard is
to ensure that arrangements and/or adjustments of the keel blocks, bilge
blocks and shoring are carried out accordingly.
Tug assistance for docking and undocking are to indicate in the docking
charges.

access cover ( size : 2 mtr x 2 mtr ) to facilitate lifting of machinery parts in
or out of the above areas for repair , service and overhaul in workshop.
To provide safety rail and temporary protection and water proof covers
during thg entire period the covers are out.
Install back the access covers upon completion of repair. All damaged bolts,

gate valves to be cleaned internally by scraping or wire brushing to sound
metal and then coated with two coats of yard supplied apexior #3 compound.
Allow for grinding or lapping of valve lids and seats and valves to be boxed
up with new gland packing and jointing, etc. Nuts & bolts damaged to be
replaced accordingly and same to be greased prior to assembly. All butterfly
valves where their interior are accessible for inspection from the exterior
side shell of the vessel are not to be dismantled from piping connection
unless specifically directed by the superintendent.These butterfly valves are
to washed clean and their interiors examined from the sea chest.During
examination, valves to be operated to confirm ease of opearation and
tightness. All butterfly valves where their interior are not accessible for
inspection are to be removed from the pipe lines for cleaning and internal
inspection and pressure tested to confirm tightness. Defective valve seat ring

ashore for cleaning and inspection. Dye check for crack to carry out on the
impeller guide vanes. Repair to be affected as necessary if crack is found.
Dynamic balace the impeller.
3 Fan casing and suction cone to be inspected after wash clean. Area where
internal coating has broken down (allow 1 M2) to be disc sanded and then touch
up with two (2) coats @1000 microns thickness of glass flake coating or
equivalent as necessary.
4 To remove the fan casing and fabricate new casings with same dimensions

5 Reassemble fan unit as per original with new stuffing box carbon rings. Couple
back impeller to drive shaft. Reinstall back inlet casing cover and suction elbow

completion of quay trial. Gauge for taking deflection to obtain from chief
engineer and return upon completion.
When taking deflection readings for the three after most cylinders, the turning
gear should be eased back at each position to relief the pressure on the turning
wheel teeth. This pressure may otherwise falsify the readings.
For access, all crank case doors to be opened and secured upon completion.
Necessary temporary lighting to be provided.

Drain off cooling water. Remove all securing nuts securing cooler to housing.
Press the cooler stack free using dismantling screws. Draw out the air cooler
stack. Rig cooler stack out of engine room and then transport to workshop for
chemical cleaning of the water and air side. Remove both end covers, remove
sacrificial anodes on covers. Clean cover and then apply with three coat of
yard's supply apexior #3 compound by hand brushing. Replaced wasted zinc
anodes with yard supply material.
During transportation of the cooler from the vessel and from workshop to
vessel, the cooler fins must be suitably protected against damage using
plywood.

Turn engine to TDC. Suspend bearing cap on each side by means of wires and
chain blocks. By means of hydraulic jacks loosen and remove the nuts of the
crank pin bearing studs. Lower the bearing cap and land it on the oil span.
Clean up the bearing for inspection.
Mount the supports for the guide shoes on the cross head guides. Carefully turn
engine until the cross head shoes rest on the supports. Securre the connecting
rod and then continue turning the engine until the upper bearing comes
completely clear of the recess in the crankshaft and the bearing surface can be
inspected freely. Clean up the journal and bearing for inspection. Rmount the
bearing in the reversed order after completion of inspection.
Measure and record all bearing clearances before and after job completion.

Turn engine to BDC. By means of hydraulic jacks , loosen and remove the nuts
on the crosshead bearing cap. By means of chain blocks, secure the connecting
rod in this position. Mount lifting eye bolts on the guide shoes and then raise
the crosshead by means of wires and chain blocks from the connecting rod until
it is posible to check the lower part of the crosshead pin and the bearing shell.
Clean up the journal and bearing for inspection. After completion of inspection,
lowwer the crosshead until the crosshead pin sit on the bearing.
For inspection of the upper bearing shell, mount eye bolts on each side of
bearing cap and by means of wires and chain blocks lift up the bearing cap
sufficien until it is able to inspect the upper part of the crosshead pin and the
upper bearing shell. Clean up the crosshead pin and bearing shell for inspection.
Remonut the bearing in the reversed order after completion of inspection.
Measure and record all bearing clearances before and after job completion.

the maker's authorised workshop for overhaul. Overhaul of fuel pump to
include overhaul of its top cover incorporating puncture valve, shock absorber
and suction valve. Measure and record plunger and barrel dimension. Plunger
and barrel worn beyond recommended limit to be renewed accordinglywith
ship's spare.
Maker service engineer to be engaged to check and adjust the fuel pump timing.
All fuel oil regulating linkages to check for free movemnet and worn out bushes
to renew from ship's stock accordingly.
Check and confirm the entire fuel cam running surface is smooth and bright.
Confirm marking on camshaft and cam are correspondent to each other.
Maker specialist to standby in engine room during quay trial and seatrial. Any
final adjjjjustment on the fuel pump tp carry out accordingly. Performance of
the engine to check and recorded.

sealing bush for roller guide. Proceed with removing of the fuel pump base by
loosening the four stud bolts.
Disconnect the reversing link. By means of lifting device, lift out the roller

The roller guide and roller then thoroughly inspected for flaws and mechanical
failure. The fuel cam surface to clean up and inspect for possible damage
marks.
The guide liner in the roller guide housing to be inspected and confirmed it is
properly secured.
Reinstall all roller guides in reversed order after inspection.

Loosen and remove the 4 stud bolts holding the actuator housing,. Fit lifting
eyes on housing and carefully the lift clear the housing leaving the piston on top
of the roller guide.
Unbolt the locking plate and then remove the piston from the roller guide.
Remove piston rings and check for wear. Renew piston rings if worn beyond
permissible limit. Clean the oil cylinder and check the oil cylinder for score
mark. Measure and record the bore.
Remove spring for roller guide. Mount lifting tool for the roller guide and by
means of engine room crane lift roller guide out of the housing. Check the
surface of the roller for possible damage marks. Check and measure slide
bearing clearance.
Inspect the thrust piece of the roller guide for deformation. Check the guide
plate on roller guide housing.
Reinstall the roller guide and actuator in reversed order after inspection.
Remount high pressure pipe, inlet pipe and drain pipe to good order.

Isolate cooling water supply and drain off water from the concerned units.
Remove for access cooling water , starting and control air, high pressure pipe
for exhaust valve actuator, exhaust gas connection and fuel oil connections.
Unfasten securing nuts for exhaust valve, starting air valve, safety valve and
fuel injector nozzles and then lifted up and put aside. Unfasten cylinder head
securing nuts with appropriate hydraulic tools.
Cylinder head then to lift clear of the engine and then transfer to shore
workshop for cleaning, inspection and repair accordingly. All head valve seat
pockets to thoroughly cleaned, lapped in and inspected for damage. Underside
of cylinder head to dye check for detection of crack. Cylinder head cooling
water jacket to remove and then refit for changing of the o-rings. Upon
completion, cylinder head then return onboard and refit back in place with
owner supplied o-rings and soft iron ring. Proper tightening pressure to apply
for tightening of cylinder head and exhaust valve as per maker
recommendation. Reinstall back all head valves and reconnect back all
connections to original with yard supplied new jointings..

exhaust valve. Disconnect control air and cooling water connections, high
pressure pipe for valve actuator and exhaust connection. Unfasten the securing
nuts for the exhaust valve with hydraulic jack.
Exhaust valve then remove ashore and compleyely strip down for inspection
and overhaul. All parts to be thorougly inpected for wear and tear. Worn out
sealing rings and piston rings to replace with ship's stock. Damaged or worn out
valve seat or spindle to return back to vessel for machining.prior to reassembly.
Complete exhaust then reassemble. Upon completion of reassembly, exhaust
valve closing to try out using compressed air and to refit back on the cylinder
head with new ship supplied o-rings. Proper tighthening pressure to apply for
tightening the exhaust valve as per maker recommendation.Reconnect back the
lub oil, air and cooling water connection and high pressure pipe and exhaust
connection to original.
While the exhaust valve is out, the bore on the cylinder head to be protected
against the falling in of foreign matters into the cylinder space.

In the workshop, remove all piston rings. Crown to decarbonise, clean up,
calibrate and record piston ring grooves. All rings removed to clean up,
calibrate and record all measurement. Piston rod to clean up and minor
logitudinal cratches to remove by carborundum grinding stone. Check and
record measurement of piston rod diameter. All records to submit to
superintendent for his final decision. Seperate piston crown from the piston
skirt. Internal of crown to decarbonise. Dye check crown for crack and measure
crown wear down with ship supplied template. Reaasemble crown and skirt
with new o-rings. Fill piston and rod with lub oil. Mount pressure testing device
and pressure test to required pressure.
Dismantle stuffing box, remove all sealing rings and scraper. Clean up all
segments of seal rings and scraper. Record dimensions of all segments. Renew
sealing rings and srcaper as necessary. Thereafter reassemble stuffing box.
Piston then reassemble with appropriate piston rings and then transport back to
ship for reinstallation. Turn x-head to 45 degree from TDC. Mount guide ring
and then lower piston into the liner and then mounted accordingly to original.
Remount stuffing box to original.
Prior to reinstalling the piston, the cylinder liner to clean up thoroughly. The
liner then inspected and dye check for crack or defects. Calibrate the cylinder
liner bore in fore-and-aft and athwartship direction and record reading. Submit
record to superintendent for his decision. Operate cylinder liner lubricators and
confirm all oil holes are clear.

Close fuel oil inlet supplty and outlet valves and drain off the remainder oil.
Remove the necesssary connections and high pressure pipes. Unscrew securing
nuts and pull out the main engine fuel injectors 12 nos. If valve is stuck, special
lifting tool for this purpose is used.
The removed fuel injector then send to authorised service workshop for service
and overhaul.
At shop the fuel valve is completely strip down , all parts clean for inspection.
Lap contact surface on spindleguide with grinding mandrel.
Diassemble spindle guide. Clean up all the parts in gas oil. Examine all contact
surfaces. Remove all marks on contact surfaces. Reassemble spindle guide.
Reassemble all injectors and then pressure tested in the present of chief
engineer or his representative.
Prior to refitting back the injectors, the valve pockets on the cylinder heads to
clean up and check for scratched mark on seating. Seatings to lapped in using
lapping tool provided on board..

oil and sludge to dispose off. Clean up the sump tank using lint free rags and
present to chief engineer for inspection. On completion, box up sump tank
inspection manhole with yard supply new jointing. Reinspect tightness of cover
after the sump is replenished with fresh oil. If no leak is detected, close up
cofferdam man hole with yard suiplly jointing to original after final cleaning of
cofferdam space.

accordingly and to replenish with owner supply fresh oil.
Check and service all safety cut off devices
Reassemble the engine to good order and adjust tappets.
Carry out necessary checks on the engine and systems. Test run generator
engine without load for 5 minutes and then shut down. Check temperature of
main and crank pin bearings and confirm in good order. Restart engine and
gradually (3 Hrs) load upto 90% in the presence of Chief Engineer and
Superintendent Engineer. All Safety devices/limits to be tested/adjusted
accordingly as per maker's recommendation.

the following works.
Erect necessary staging in way of fore and aft covers of condenser. (Allowed
for 10 planks) Remove vacuum condenser cooling water inlet and outlet
pipings and all fittings attached to end covers. Remove all securing bolts and
nuts for the covers and then lift covers aside.
Thoroughly clean both end covers for inspection. Damged neoprene coating
on the end covers to be repair by disc sanding the affected area to bare metal
and then apply with new coating. ( Assume 1 m2 for estimating purposes).
Renew 4nos soft iron protecting anodes with owner supply spare.
Clear up all tubes using nylon brush and follow by water lancing. Damaged
tubes insert to be replaced with yard supplied spares. (allow for 20 pcs inserts
to replace).
Remove and refit 1 section of the steam inlet connection to the condenser. Fill
steam side of the condenser with fresh water and test the tudes for leaks with
spectro test powder and ultra violet light. On completion , drain and then
flush steam side woith fresh water.
Close up condenser with new yard supplied gaskets ( 1350 mm dia x 3t ) for
the end covers. Refit all removed pipings and fittings to original. Renew all
damaged studs and nuts..

Remove both end covers. Wire brush and scrape inside of covers to sound
metal and then paint both end covers with two coats of yard supply Apexior #
3 compound. Carry out hydro test on the shell side to 9.0 Kg/cm2 to confirm
all tubese are intact. ( For quotation purposes, allow for 6 tubes be plugged
with yard supply tube plugs ).
Renew end cover anodes with yard supply zinc anodes 65 mm dia x 25 mmT
x 8 pcs.
Refit covers with yard supply gaskets ( 620 mm dia x 3t ). Return condenser
onboard and then reinstall to original.
Refit all conderser pipings and fittings.
Test system for external leak and rectify accordingly.

Remove all pipings and fittings including other attachments on the reduction
gear casing. Remove fastening bolts of the gear casing cover. Slide out the
cover from the body using guide bar. Check and record thrust
clearance.Check condition of gear and record its backlash.Submit all readings
to owner. Close back casing cover and fasten gear casing securing bolts.
Reattach all pipings and fitting.
Unbolt bonnet cover for governor valve and withdraw out valve disc complete
with valve stem. Check condition of valve seat, dics guide and discs. Refit to
original after inspection.

rods from cross head and pull out pistons and slide valves for inspection.
REmove timing lever from x-heads. Unbolt liquid piston covers and pull out
liquid psitons together with the crosshead. Remove steam piston rings and
bucket piston rings . Clean for inspection and record all clearances. Check
clearances against maker's recommendation. Refit steam pistons and liquid
pistons using new piston rings as necessary. Attach back piston rods to cross
heads to original. Reinstall timing lever. Reinstall slide valves and the covers
to original with new jointing.
Remove suction and delivery valve chest covers. Extract delivery valves.
Unbolt suction valves lift bolt and woithdraw suction valves. Dismantle all
suction and delivery valves, clean for inspection. All valve discs to light skim
and valve seat to lap in. Reassemble all suction and delivery valves with new
valve spring as necessary. Refit covers with new jointing.
Dismount the safety valve from the delivery valve chest. Rig safety valve out
of pump room and then send to shop for overhaul. At shop, dismantle safety
valve completely. Clean up all parts for inspection. Lap in valve disc and
valve seat. Reaasemble valve to original with new jointing. Set lifting
pressure at 13 kg/cm2 with compressed air. return safety valve onboard and
refit to original with yard supply gasket.

pressure at 15.0 bar. On completion , drain and then flush steam side woith
fresh water.
Close up heater with new yard supplied gasket for the end covers. Refit all
removed pipings and fittings to original. Renew all damaged studs and nuts..

Drain oil from hydraulic oil tank. Open manhole cover, clean and wipe clean the tank
internal. Check low level cut off switch for hydraulic pumps and confirm in operation
order. Refit manhole cover with new jointing after confirming no cleaning material left
inside. Remove strainer for cleaning and refit after cleaning. Replenish the oil tank
with fresh oil (approx. 200 ltrs) with ship's stock.
Remove for checking and servicing the relief valve. Replace o-rings and reassemble
relief valve. Refit to original. Remove for checking and servicing the solenoid valve for
unloading. Replace o-ring and reasssemble solenoid valve. Run the hydraulic system,
purge and rectify any leak at connection where appropriate. Confirm individual pump
able to achieve operation pressure and no abnormal noise or vibration generated.
Open and close terminal cover on solenoid valve after retighten all terminal
connections. Remove end nuts for solenoid. Withdraw coils, armature and springs.
Inspect for defects and damage. Reassemble to original with new o-rings. Check and
confirm correct operation during valves operation test.
Allow for 5 nos faulty local valve position indicator to be replaced with owner spare. ………….

Yard to arrange service engineer from authorised service center to carry out

1. Conduct initial inspection and checking prior to servicing of the tank radar
system. Record all necessary readings.
2. Overhaul all the individual tank radar assembly.
(a) open up tank radar housing cover for access to component.
(b) Rremove electronic box, inert gas sensor and temperature sensor for
cleaning, inspection and calibration as per manufacturer's specification and
procedure.
3. Conduct ground leakage and voltage check on tank radar TCM and ensure
system comply with manufacturer's specification.
4. Conduct complete insulation and continuity test on all deck cables, i.e.
from TCM to transmitter; transmitter to temperature sensors.
5. Re-commission the sytem and conduct simulation test for level, pressure
and temperature with standard simulators.operational test.

tested with simulator.

Remove flanged bolts on the ventilator cowl flange. LIft off ventilator cowl
and place aside. Remove flanged bolts for vent fan casing. By means of
lifting tackle, lift up motor fan unit from the fan casing. Transport the motor
fan unit to shop for overhaul.
In the workshop, remove impeller from shaft. Clean up the fan blades for
inspection. Dye check root of fan blades for crack. Dynamic balanced the
impeller.
Uncouple drive shaft from motor. Withdraw drive shaft and check for
trueness. Check for flaw at sliding surface. Overhaul the stuffing box.
Reasseble the drive shaf and fan impeller. Redeliver backmotor fan unit back
onboard for installation.
Descale the fan casing and then apply with 2 coats of anti corrosion paint.
Refit motor fan unit to fan casing and secure all flanged bolts on fan casing.

Unbolt and remove louvres for fan rooms for access.

Remove securing bolts for motor and then lifted aside complete motor and
impeller unit. Casing to descale and then coated with 2 coats of anti corrosion
paint. Complete motor and impeller unit then rigged out of the fan room and
then transfer to workshop for complete overhaul of the fan unit. Remove
impeller from motor drive end. All fan blades to clean up and then dye check
for crack at root of fan blades. Dynamic balance the fan unit. Recouple the
motor and impellert. Upon completion, complete motor and impeller unit to
return onboard and then reinstall to original with new door seal packings..
Overhaul of the fan motor will be covered under separate work order.

Check and record hydraulic pressure develop by hydraulic pump and adjust
main pressure setting at main relief valve. Check and record pressure at
manoeuvring valve for hoisting, luffing and slewing at no load and confirm all
operations are smooth and not jerky. Carry out thorough visual inspection on
all hydraulic hoses to assess their condition. Hoses in poor condition to replace
accordingly.
Check and adjust hydraulic disc brake for hoisting and slewing as necessary.
Check and inspect slewing pinion gear and drive gear for abnormal wear.
Drain off system oil in the hydraulic tank , clean tank internal and then
replenish with fresh oil. Replace filter element with spare from ship stock.
Drain off winch gear and slewing gear oil and replenish with new oil.
Pay out the steel wire rope, check for wear and tear and damage, apply wire oil
or cardium compound and then restow wire.
Crane boom head severly corroded and holed to be cropped & renewed.
Remove wire sheaves and cargo hook block when wire is pay out. Strip down
sheaves and hook block. Inspect all parts for wear and tear. Reassemble
sheaves and hook block and then reinstall to original.
Service starter box, tighten all electric terminals. Service all contactors and
relays.
Power up and purge system of air. Carry out load test at load of 18.75 ton using
dead weight after repair.
Issue service report.
Arrange endorsement of the Cargo Gear Book (Chain Register) by the
Classification Surveyor accordingly.

Limit switch
Check all it switches for free movement. Adjust the limit switch such that the
cradle will stop 200 to 300 mm from the boat stowing position.
Gear case
Open oil drain plug at winch and drain off oil and dispose off ashore. Refit
plug with new gasket and then replenish the winch with fresh oil from ship
stock to required level. Open gear case top cover and inspect gear teeth for
wear and tear. Refit cover after inspection.
Greasing
All sheave blocks (20 nos) to remove. All sheaves to dismmantle and clean up
for inspection. Reinstall all sheaves after servicing. Replace grease nipples as
necessary and grease all shease accordingly. (allow for 10 nipples to replace
with yard supply). Pay out boat falls and then apply wire rope oil or cardium
compound and then restow falls. Adjust fall to correct tension.
