Working on Weekends?

For most people, weekends are the time to relax. Most people get up late, go to the park, go out with
friends, or enjoy their free time in another way.

But there are other people who have to work every weekend. These people do important jobs that help us in
our daily lives.

Tania is a nurse and works in a busy hospital.

“I always work weekends. I don’t mind though. I like to help people and I get a day off in the week. Usually
that is a Tuesday, but I am sometimes off on Mondays or Fridays. On those days, I do housework at home and
go to the gym. But it is hard to meet friends. They are always at work when I am off!”

Ben also works on Saturdays in a supermarket.

“I like my job, but working Saturday isn’t much fun. When I am at work, other people are out having fun with
their friends. I work with nice people though, so that is good. I usually have Sundays off so I make a nice meal
for my parents or watch sports on TV.”
