Policy Document on the Green Campus

Green Campus: A green campus is an area where sustainable and eco-friendly practices are
promoted through education and environmental friendly actions. The lush green college campus
idea gives an organization the chance to take the lead in reinventing its environmental culture
and forging new paradigms by developing sustainable solutions to the requirements of mankind
in the areas of the environment, society, and the economy.

The Go Green Program's goals are: Establishing a functional Green-Campus Committee inside
the Institute's organizational framework is the first stage in the Go Green Program.

Therefore, institute releases a POLICY DOCUMENT outlining the strategies, plans, and other
related activities to officially launch this Program in order to offer this endeavor greater
credibility and clarity.

We think that going green is all about eliminating wasteful inefficiencies, using conventional
energy sources for daily power demands, processing waste properly, buying eco-friendly
products, and having a successful recycling programme. The Institute's administration is of the
opinion that everyone must devise time-bound plans for putting into action green campus
activities. In order to create a clean and green campus, these techniques must be implemented
into the institutional planning and budgeting procedures. Every person on the Dronacharya
Group of Institutions Campus shall put out effort—students, instructors, and support staff
included—to promote an environment-friendly campus and a culture of self-sustainability.

the following:

1. Request the opinions of all the Stakeholders needed to sustain the Go Green Campus
campaign all year long.

2. Assess the environmental effects of the campus to determine the areas that need repair.

3. Launch environmental ethics awareness programmes on campus.

4. Outline a mission statement and a set of guiding principles for a green campus.

5. Connect the Institute's academic programmes to green-campus activities.

6. Plan awareness campaigns for society, professors, and students.

7. Create a yearly schedule for the Institute, the neighbourhood, and stakeholders.

8. Create student teams to carry out particular tasks outlined in the strategic plan and develop a
plan of action. A time-bound institute-level energy conservation strategy that mandates the
installation of a solar power station at the top of the institute building. As a result, the institute
will have a constant supply of power.

9. Get LEDs to gradually replace CFLs and other traditional lighting sources like halogen and
mercury street and campus lights, bulbs, and tube lights.

10. Perform an annual audit of energy, environment, and sustainability.

11. Only invest in energy-efficient computers, such as those marked "ENERGY STAR" or their
equivalents.

12. Create public-private partnerships including representatives of the corporate sector, utilities,
and federal, state, and local environmental agencies.

13. Assess daily operations for energy efficiency, waste stream management, and pollution
prevention. Wherever practicable, reduce, reuse, recycle, and repair.

recommendations will be followed.

• Unplug any devices (such as TVs, refrigerators, air conditioners, tea/coffeepots, printers, fax
machines, and chargers) that are not plugged into power strips.

Outside of the Institute, "Save Energy Tips" include:

• The Institute has to concentrate on waste water management, especially in student residences.
Reduced water flow toilets, automatic urinal flushers, and faucet and shower water flow
