CHAPTER ONE
Hi!
Am Delight, and this is my story.
I am from a lowly village down the
hill. I have struggled so hard in life but all
my struggles went in vain, nothing was
working out till this happened;
This is how my story began

Mr. Frank and his wife have been
barren since they got married, they tried
possible means to conceive but all their
efforts prove abortive.
They were being mocked of their
childlessness by people around and this
gave Josephine the impression that she
would not give birth again.
Frank is known in the community as a very
wretched carpenter who feeds from hand to
mouth. His lack of children and money
contributed to his situation and this made
him look older than his age.
Josephine visits from one church to another,
traditional homes to another left the
communal talking. Each night, she cries to
God.
“Is it till I die before you will intervene?
Where are you God? Am tired of my present
predicaments….
Am tired of the mockery, the shame is too
much. Please come to my rescue, save me
from all this stress”
Josephine laments in tears.
Frank calmed his wife and reminded her of
those that gave birth in their old age.
Have you forgotten easily of Emeka’s wife
who delivered after twenty-seven years of
marriage? Frank asked.
Stop all this so you won’t cause harm to
your health. You are not the only barren
woman on this earth; your own children will
come. So cheer up, am I not your husband
again? I should be more worried not you,
because my linage is at stake. If you keep
crying what you want me to do, he asked
solemnly. So please wipe away your tears,
we are in this together, he hugged his wife
passionately and the both slept.
Next morning, they both left for their
different assignment. Josephine went to her
farm to clear her cassava. She worked for
hours till it was noon. She decided to rest
under the palm tree in her farm. Suddenly,
an old woman from nowhere passed by and
hurriedly stopped at the sight of seeing
Josephine. The old woman begged of her
water.
She hastily gave her from the little water
remaining and the old woman drank form
the keg. She commented her of being
hospitable, she thank and blessed her, then
she left.
Frank and his wife kept on struggling, he
made sure he encourages his wife each
time her thoughts goes to her
predicaments. Though, they feed from hand
to mouth, but their love knew no bounds
and was ever grateful to God and lives
happily.
After seven years of bareness and
hardship, Josephine conceived. The news of
her conception gave her family unspeakable
joy; their joy knew no bonds, anyone who
head of the miracle share in their joy.
Josephine’s moment of pregnancy went
smoothly due to the pampering her
husband gave her.
CHAPTER TWO
A Pinch sound was heard from Frank’s
compound. It was a cry of a baby,
Josephine just put to birth in the early hours
of the morning.
The environment was filled with laughter
and joy. People troop in the compound to
share with their happiness. When the child
was cleaned, the baby was handed over to
the father. Frank thanked God for
remembering him and he named the child;
Delight which means ‘Light of God’. Week
passed, months passed and years passed,
Delight grew up to be promising young boy
who was blessed with a wonderful gift.
His wonderful gift if singing made him
popular in school.
Delight excels in all endeavors, all his mates
were jealous of him including his teachers.
Several years passed, he grew into a
handsome young man. After many years of
education, the young man decided to go in
search for a white collar job as his fellow
colleagues but all his effort proves abortive.
All his applications were rejected. He
became tired and frustrated. He
