WAYS OF LEARNING
  Synchronous and
   Asynchronous
     Blended
     Learning
           Synchronous learning
refers to instructors and students gathering
at the same time and (virtual or physical)
     place and interacting in “real-time”.
          Asynchronous learning
refers to students accessing materials at their
own pace and interacting with each other
              over longer periods.
           Blended Learning
- approach to education that combines
    online educational materials and
opportunities for interaction online with
   traditional place-based classroom
                methods.
    Models of Blended Learning
                                  1. Face-to-face driver
The teacher delivers the curricula most of the time and utilize online learning at
certain times with purpose to augment or provide an alternative experience.
Instruction is provided in a computer laboratory or assigned tasks are uploaded online.
                                        2: Rotation
In a particular course or subject, students rotate on a fixed schedule between
learning online in a one-to-one, self-paced learning environment and being inside
the classroom with a face-to-face teacher. This is the model that is between the
traditional face-to-face learning and online learning.
    Models of Blended Learning
                                            3: Flex
This model uses an online platform that delivers most of the course. Support to learning is
provided as needed through on-site support or by an online tutor who facilitates the tutorial
or small group sessions. Sessions can be arranged into synchronous or asynchronous. Course
participants may work on their tasks at any convenient time as long as it is within the
                               confines of the course duration.
                                         4: Online Lab
The online-lab model uses an online platform in delivering the course but located in a physical
classroom or computer laboratory. Since the lessons are in modular format and available in the
online program, teacher assistants supervise these classes. However, they may not provide the
needed expertise if learners seek assistance. Furthermore, students who are enrolled in an
Online Lab model of blended learning may be enrolled in a traditional classroom courses at the
same time and therefore have block schedules.
Models of Blended Learning
                               5: Self-Blend
It is a system provided by the school where the students can choose the
courses they would like to have in addition to their typical brick-and-
mortar classroom classes. This model is always remote – a major
                      difference from the Online Lab
                               6: Online Driver
The online-driver model utilizes a platform and a teacher that delivers all
curricula. Students remotely work on their program most of the time. If
ever there is a face- to-face component, it is made optional or if ever it is
required for the students to go to the physical learning environment
learning such as in a school, then it can be extracurricular activities
                        augmenting the curriculum.

1 What are the Dangers of Using Social
                    Networking Sites
Social networking services carry a number of risks, such as
the possibility of making friends with strangers who are
predators or cyberbullies. Bullying can happen from
someone you're not even friends with. By inciting ire
through contentious or offensive posts, trolls make disputes
worse. Additionally, users run the risk of developing an
online addiction, neglecting their offline social lives, and
hurting themselves. While some parents limit their children's
access to the internet in an effort to safeguard them, this
limits the educational benefits that social media may
                            provide.
       How to Safeguard Oneself When
2 Engaging in Social Networking Sites
Students can use social networking sites created for
educational reasons, which will enable them to post,
share, and discuss ideas from an activity. Networking can
be restricted and supervised within the school system.
Super Clubs Plus, Learner Journey, and Scuttle Pad are a
few of these websites. One disadvantage, though, is that
these social networking sites aren't always as appealing
to kids as Facebook or Twitter, so they can be
                        overlooked.
          What are the Precautionary measures
   3 when using Social Media:
Let's always keep in mind how important it is to use social
networking sites responsibly and securely. It advises creating strong
passwords, shutting down public computers, and routinely
examining privacy settings. People are advised to use caution when
posting anything online since it may damage their reputation and
maybe cause harm to others. They ought to report any harassment
or abuse and only accept friend invitations from persons they know
in person. Along with outlining the dangers of cyberbullying, the
guidelines offer solutions, including blocking, reporting, ignoring,
and getting help from adults. In the end, the message advises users
to find a balance between taking use of social networking's
advantages and exercising caution when using it.
