Learning Outcome:
After completing this exercise, you will be able to:
• Understand Google Trends tool.
• Search and compare different queries.
• Use SEO Quake tool to check optimized keywords.
There are five tasks of this exercise. Please complete all of them.
Scenario:
You are hired as an SEO intern at a shoe company in Pakistan. Your task is to use Google Trends to
compare how popular casual shoes and sports shoes are in the region. You are also required to look at
related searches and see if certain keywords are optimized on other websites. This will help the company
figure out how to improve their online visibility.
Tasks:
1. Visit Google Trends, search queries based on the scenario and compare them.
2. Select region, timeline, and relevant category and generate comparison graph for Interest over
time.
3. Select one query from the “Related Queries” available on the Google Trends page and search it on
Google.
4. From the results, select a website, and check if that website has optimized that query (keyword) in
the meta title and meta description.
5. Check if the selected website has implemented Robots.txt, XML Sitemap, and Schema.
Guidelines:
• Select Pakistan in “Region”, past 12 month in “Timeline”, and shopping in “Category”.
• For task 4 & 5, use SEO Quake extension.
NOTE:
1. Create an MS Word file with screenshots of all the above-mentioned tasks.
2. We will analyze your solution based on the steps that you would perform.
