“EAGLE PILAR” / DP SHUTTLE TANKER : PETROBRAS ANNUAL DP TRIALS - 2023
REPORT NO. SI-G43-0989-R987 Rev. 0
Equipment System: Power Generation System
Test No. 20: Generator Full Power Tests
Objective: To demonstrate the ability of the thrusters and generators to operate at rated power.
Assumption: DP, PMS/power systems and thrusters are fully operational. All engine protection must be fully
operational and tested prior to this test.
Method: This test item can be carried out in manual mode.
1. Required ME and generators to be operated according to demand to sustain 100% load on
specified main engine for at least 30 minutes. (Note: this test can be done during sailing).
Expected Results:
1. Each main engine and generator is capable of 100% power for at least 30 minutes with no
alarms or trips active.

Comments:
For trials attachment please refer to appendix B:
· TEST 20-All DGs 100%
· TEST 20-ME 100%
To verify full load availability of the DGs, any feature that can prevent verification of the 100%
reduction tests is to be temporarily disabled prior of full load test. Minimum of 95% load is to be
to start maintained throughout 30 minutes.

Equipment System: Thrusters
Test No. 21: Thruster Full Power Tests
Objective: To demonstrate the ability of the thrusters to operate at rated power.
Assumption: Power plant/ thrusters/ DP/ICMS are commissioned and operational.
Method: This test can be done by joystick or manual levers:
1. Note key thruster parameters with thruster at idle including motor winding temperature, cooling water
temperature. Increase thrust to maximum and hold for 60 minutes. This test can be done with a
group of thrusters at a time or one at a time.
2. Note the time taken for the thruster to ramp from 0-100% (on manual levers). Take note of rudder
response time as well
Expected Results:
1-2. All thrusters capable of delivering 100% and satisfactory performance for all thrusters.
