A young cloud was born amid a massive storm over the Mediterranean Sea.
He barely had time to
grow or understand his surroundings before a powerful wind blew him and his cloud family towards
Africa.
As the clouds moved over Africa, the weather changed drastically. The hot sun shone brightly, and
below them lay the endless golden sands of the Sahara Desert. Since it rarely rains in the desert, the
strong wind kept pushing the clouds further south towards the lush forests where rain was more
common.
Among the clouds was one young, adventurous cloud who felt a strong desire to explore. Like a
young person eager to see the world, he wanted to break away from his parents and older friends to
discover something new.
“What are you doing?” the wind shouted. “The desert looks the same everywhere. Rejoin the other
clouds, and we’ll travel to Central Africa, where there are amazing mountains and trees!”
But the young cloud, with his rebellious spirit, refused to follow. He wanted to explore and
experience something different. Slowly, he descended until he met a gentle, kind breeze that allowed
him to hover peacefully above the golden sands.
As he floated over the desert, he noticed something remarkable. One of the dunes seemed to be
smiling up at him. This dune was young, freshly shaped by the winds that had just passed. The sight
of her golden curves shining under the sun captivated the young cloud. Instantly, he felt a connection
and a sudden love for this beautiful dune.
“Good morning,” the cloud greeted her warmly. “What is life like down there?”
“I have the company of other dunes, the sun, the wind, and the caravans that sometimes pass
through here. Sometimes it gets really hot, but it’s manageable. What is life like up there?”
“We also have the sun and wind,” the cloud replied, “but the best part is that I can travel across the
sky and see so many different things. I’ve seen the vast blue sea, tall mountains, and green forests.”
“For me,” the dune sighed, “life is short. When the wind returns from the forests, I will disappear into
the vast desert.”
“Does that make you sad?” the cloud asked gently.
“It makes me feel that I have no purpose in life,” she admitted. “I’m just one of many dunes, and
soon I’ll be blown away.”
“I feel the same,” the cloud said with understanding. “When another wind comes, I will be carried
south and turned into rain; that is my destiny. But even then, I wonder if I will make any difference.”
The dune thought for a moment. Then she said, “Did you know that here in the desert, we call rain
paradise?”
“Paradise?” the cloud repeated, surprised. “I had no idea I could ever be that important.”
“I have heard stories from other dunes about the rain,” the dune explained. “They say that after it
rains, we are covered with grass and flowers. It is a beautiful transformation that brings life to the
desert. But I will never experience that, because it rains so rarely here.”
The cloud paused, moved by her words. He realized he had the power to bring paradise to the dune,
to fulfil her wish. With a broad smile, he made a decision. “If you want, I could rain on you now. I
know I’ve only just arrived, but I have fallen in love with you, and I want to stay here forever.”
“But if you turn into rain, you will disappear,” the dune said, worried.
“My experiences and feelings will live on,” the cloud reassured her. “They will be transformed into
something beautissssful. Besides, I want to show you what paradise feels like.” With that, he began
to caress the dune with drops of rain. They stayed together, enjoying every moment, until a bright
rainbow appeared in the sky.
The next day, the once-barren dune was covered with colourful flowers. The change was magical.
Other clouds, passing by on their way to Africa, thought this flourishing spot was part of the lush
forests they were looking for and showered it with more rain. The rain brought life to the desert,
turning the dry land into a blooming oasis.
Twenty years later, the humble dune had transformed into a thriving oasis. It was now a haven,
offering shade and refreshment to tired travellers and providing a home for many animals. The oasis
was a testament to the power of love and sacrifice, a paradise in the middle of the harsh desert.
Travellers from faraway places marvelled at the oasis and shared stories of its origins. They spoke of a
young cloud who had fallen in love with a beautiful dune and had the courage to give up his life to
bring life to the barren desert. The tale of their love spread far and wide, inspiring others with its
message of selflessness and transformation.
The oasis continued to flourish, a symbol of hope and life in the vast desert. The trees grew tall and
strong, their branches offering shelter to birds and animals. The flowers bloomed in vibrant colours,
attracting bees and butterflies. The wind was as cheerful as ever and the desert was not so barren
anymore. The once desolate area was now full of life, a paradise indeed.
And all of this happened because one day, a young cloud chose to fall in love and had the courage to
sacrifice himself for that love. His legacy lived on in the oasis, a testament to the power of love and
the beauty of selfless acts. The cloud’s story became a legend, a symbol of hope and transformation
that would be remembered for generations to come. each individual has a unique legend to fulfil in
the universe. Just as the cloud found purpose in giving and bringing paradise to the dune, every
person has the potential to make a meaningful impact by choosing to act with love and compassion
in their own lives.
