Shipment Information
Introduction
Description You use Shipment Display to view detailed information about any shipment in the
system (or, in a 3PL environment, any shipment for a client for which you are
authorized), and to monitor the progress of inventory required for a shipment as it is
picked and moved to the staging lane.
Shipment Display lets you view
• shipment information, such as the destination location, status, carrier and service
level.
• stop information.
• export information.
• information about inventory that has been picked for the shipment, such as its
location on the movement path to ship staging or the shipping trailer.
• parcels, if any, that have been manifested for a parcel shipment. For more
information on parcel manifesting, see the Warehouse Management online help.
• assets, if any, associated with the shipment. For more information on assets, see
the Warehouse Management online help.
You can also access the Held Inventory Display window that lets you view any
associated inventory holds. For more information, see the Warehouse Management
online help.
You can use several different shipment attributes, such as shipment ID, order
number, client and ship-to customer, as search criteria.
Example: This image is an example of the Shipment Display window. This window also
Shipment appears when you click View Shipments on other Warehouse Management windows.

Display Control Description
Window View Holds Displays the Held Inventory window that lets you view information about
the hold definitions, if any, that are applied to the selected shipment's
inventory.
Shipment Tab
Warehouse ID (Display only) Unique identifier assigned to the facility.
Shipment ID Unique name or code that identifies a shipment. A shipment is a group of
orders or order lines that are allocated together and shipped to the same
location.
Control Description
Shipment Current condition of the shipment in the shipment preparation process.
Status These are the valid values: Ready = The shipment has been created and
is ready for allocation. Shipments can be created automatically by host
download, or manually using Shipment Planning Operations to plan
orders into a shipment or using Shipment Maintenance. In-Process =
Inventory for the shipment has been allocated. Staged = The shipment
has been staged manually or automatically. A shipment is staged when
all inventory for the shipment has been picked and deposited in the ship
staging location and is ready to be loaded onto the trailer. Loading = At
least one pallet, case, or piece of inventory has been deposited onto the
trailer. Loaded = All inventory for the shipment has been loaded onto the
trailer. Load Complete = The trailer containing the shipment has been
closed and/or dispatched from the facility. Transfer = Inventory for the
shipment is being moved to a different ship staging location. Cancelled =
The shipment has been canceled with a shipped quantity of zero.
Carrier Code that identifies the carrier that is delivering incoming product to the
warehouse, or the carrier that is expected to deliver outgoing shipments
to a customer. This is the carrier identifier used for internal processing.
Service Level Code that identifies the service/transit time provided by the carrier who
will transport an order or a shipment to the customer.
Destination Area to which inventory is to be moved. This is the final area on a
Area movement path that may contain hop areas. A destination area may be a
storage area for received inventory, a ship staging area for inventory
picked for a shipment, or a production staging area for component
inventory picked for an assembly work order. An area is a collection of
locations in a warehouse set aside for a specific purpose or having
distinct characteristics. Areas are usually defined to limit user and vehicle
access, and to control work.
Destination Location to which inventory is to be moved, such as a storage location
Location for received inventory, a ship staging location for inventory picked for a
shipment, or a production staging location for component inventory
picked for a work order. A location is a uniquely identified position within
an area of the warehouse used to store, stage or manipulate product.
Document Unique number that identifies the paperwork associated with shipping
Number product. Document numbers are applied at the carrier move, stop and/or
shipment level.
Pro Number Progressively rotating order number. The PRO number is a billing
number assigned by the carrier and used to assist in tracking a shipment
throughout the delivery process. It consists of a shipper number and a
sequential number that are combined to form a unique number. PRO
numbers can be applied at the carrier move, stop and/or shipment levels.
Wave Set Optional shipment attribute that identifies the group of shipments that you
want to include in a particular wave. A wave is a method of combining
orders or shipments into logical sets (such as all shipments that are
scheduled to ship tomorrow on a particular carrier) to achieve efficient
picking for release and fulfillment.
Date Entered (Display only.) Date and time that the shipment was entered into the host
system.
Date Added (Display only.) Date and time that the shipment was created in
Warehouse Management (automatically by a host download or manually
in Shipment Planning Operations or Shipment Maintenance).
Control Description
Staged Date (Display only.) Date and time that the shipment was staged. Staging a
shipment indicates that all of the inventory for the shipment has been
picked and deposited in the staging location, and is ready to be loaded
onto the shipping trailer.
Allocation (Display only.) Date and time that inventory for the shipment was
Date allocated. Allocation is the process of locating and reserving inventory for
a shipment, and creating the work to pick that inventory.
Loaded Date (Display only.) Date and time that inventory for the shipment was
completely loaded onto a shipping trailer.
Example: This image is an example of the Stop tab on the Shipment Display window.
Stop Tab
Controls: This table describes the controls on the Stop tab on the Shipment Display window.
Stop Tab
Control Description
Carrier Move ID Unique number that identifies a carrier move. A carrier move,
which is also referred to as a master shipment, is a collection of
stops that will be shipped together on a single trailer.
Stop ID Unique number that identifies a stop. A stop is a collection of one
or more shipments making up a delivery to a single customer.
Stop Name Meaningful text that describes the stop. Stop names are user
defined.
Stop Sequence Order in which the stops will be made by the trailer.

Tab
Controls: This table describes the controls on the Additional Query Fields tab on the Shipment
Additional Display window. This tab is only used to enter search criteria. It does not display
Query Fields corresponding information for a shipment that is selected from the grid view.
Tab
Control Description
Order Number Unique number that identifies an order. An order is a request for a
supply of material or product.
Client ID Unique identifier for a client who houses product within a multi-
client (third-party logistics) warehouse/facility. The client ID
distinguishes one client from another and lets Warehouse
Management effectively manage activity for multiple clients in one
warehouse. In Workforce Management, the client may be used
both for reporting purposes and in the job code mapping process to
develop individual job codes for clients.
Ship-To Customer Customer who will receive the shipment. For work orders,
organization to which component items will be shipped.
Schedule Batch Unique identifier that is assigned to a group of pick-type work
Number requests (picks, replenishments and cross docks) that are created
at the same time. The schedule batch number is generated by the
system at the time that the pick-type work is created during
inventory allocation. The schedule batch distinguishes one group of
pick-type work requests from another, which lets you track the
group of pick-type work requests through the system. For example,
if you allocate inventory for a single shipment, then all of the picks,
replenishments and cross docks generated for the shipment have
the same schedule batch number. If you allocate inventory for
multiple shipments at the same time, then all of the picks,
replenishments and cross docks generated for the group of
shipments have the same schedule batch number. If you allocate
inventory for a wave, then all of the picks, replenishments and
cross docks generated for the wave have the same schedule batch
number. If you allocate inventory for a work order, then all of the
picks, replenishments and cross docks generated for the work
order have the same schedule batch number.
Tracking Number Unique number used by a parcel carrier to track a parcel
throughout the delivery process.
Control Description
Waveable Indicates that this order can be grouped into a wave and processed
through Wave Operations instead of Shipment Allocation
Operations. A wave is a method of combining orders or shipments
into logical sets (such as all shipments that are scheduled to ship
tomorrow on a particular carrier) to achieve efficient picking for
release and fulfillment. With wave planning, Warehouse
Management automatically selects and releases orders based
upon user-defined wave planning rules.
Appointment Start Scheduled date and time for a carrier to have a trailer arrive for pick
Date up and/or delivery of shipments. When used as selection criteria,
you can click the Arrow button and select one of these valid values:
Single Date = Lets you type or select from the calendar a single
date and time. Fixed Date Range = Lets you type or select from the
calendar a date range. Relative Date Range = Lets you type a code
(such as -1W for one week prior to today) to specify a relative date
or date range. Fixed Date Range and Relative Date Range also let
you use Select Preset Range to select from a list of preset days
and date ranges, such as Today, Tomorrow or Current Month.
Presets are defined in Date Range Preset Maintenance. Leaving
the From or To field blank lets you specify an open-ended date
range.
Example: This image is an example of the Export tab on the Shipment Display window. This
Export Tab tab only appears if a parcel manifesting service, such as RedPrairie's Parcel product,
is installed and configured to work with the instance of Warehouse Management.
Controls: This table describes the controls on the Export tab on the Shipment Display window.
Export Tab
Control Description
AES Number Unique internal transaction number (ITN) that is generated by the
Automated Export System (AES) administered by the United States
Census Bureau's Foreign Trade division. An ITN is required for
shipping non-exempt parcels out of the United States and is obtained
by using one of the AESDirect products (such as www.aesdirect.gov).
If the parcel is exempt, this box is blank.
Control Description
AES Type Code that indicates how you have filed or will file the shipment with the
Automated Export System (AES). These are the valid values: Pre-
shipment = You filed before the shipment shipped, which requires an
AES internal transaction number (ITN) and an acceptance date. Post-
shipment = You filed after the shipment shipped, but before the
shipment arrived at customs, which does not require an AES ITN.
Server down = You attempted to file, but the AES server was down.
AES Accepted Date and time that the international shipment was accepted by the
Date Automated Export System (AES) and an internal transaction number
(ITN) was given. A value is only required if the value for AES Type is
Pre-Shipment.
FTSR Number Foreign Trade Statistics Regulations (FTSR) number (an Automated
Export System [AES] exemption citation). This is the number of the
section or provision in the FTSR where the particular exemption is
provided [for example, 30.55(h)]. Warehouse Management passes the
information to Parcel; Warehouse Management does not receive the
information from Parcel. A value is only required if the AES Number
box is blank.
Export Type Code that a parcel carrier has defined for itself to be used for
international shipment documentation and manifesting international
packages. The valid values are provided by the integrated Parcel
instance. If you need to change the export type after manifesting a
parcel for a shipment, you must void the parcels associated with the
shipment, change the export type, and then re-manifest the shipment's
parcels with the new export type.

Picks Tab
Control Description
Remaining Picks Indicates that you only want to view the pick work for the shipment
that has not yet been completed.
All Picks Indicates that you want to view all of the pick work that was
generated when this shipment was allocated, regardless of whether
or not the work is already completed. If the list is blank, the
shipment is not allocated or allocation could not generate pick
work, and, if configured to do so, allocation generated
replenishments instead.
Example: This image is an example of the Assets tab on the Shipment Display window. This
Assets Tab tab only appears if asset tracking is enabled.
Controls: This table describes the controls on the Assets tab on the Shipment Display window.
Assets Tab
Control Description
Serialized Lists the serialized assets that are being or have been shipped with
the shipment. An asset is an object (such as a type of container,
equipment, pallet, tote or vehicle) associated with a warehouse that
has value and that you want to track. An asset may or may not
contain inventory. Serialized assets are tracked by asset type, as well
as individually by a unique asset ID. If the asset is not empty (it is
associated with inventory on the shipment), the asset information also
appears on the Inventory tab of the Shipment Display window.
Control Description
Non-Serialized Lists the non-serialized assets that are being or have been shipped
with the shipment. An asset is an object (such as a type of container,
equipment, pallet, tote or vehicle) associated with a warehouse that
has value and that you want to track. An asset may or may not
contain inventory. Non-serialized assets are tracked collectively by
asset type, not as individuals. If the asset is not empty (it is
associated with inventory on the shipment), the asset information also
appears on the Inventory tab of the Shipment Display window.
