PROBLEM
This study aims to identify the reasons why the students like
and dislike a subject specifically in Palanan National High
School,Palanan Isabela S.Y 2023-2024.The result of the study
would be helpful to both students and teachers in identifying
possible intention pertaining to their study.

I.I. OUTSIDE PHILIPPINES


The preference and dislikes of students towards subjects can
vary widely across different countries and cultures,factors such
as teaching method etc.In many places, students might
gravitate towards subjects they find engaging or relevant to
their future goal,while disliking those they find challenging or
less interesting to the subject.

I.2. PHILIPPINES
Issues related to students like and dislike subject in the
philippines
1. Relevance: Students may perceive certain subjects as
irrelevant to their future goals or careers, leading to disinterest
or dislike.
2. Teaching Methods: Ineffective teaching methods or lack of
engagement strategies by educators can make subjects seem
boring or difficult to grasp.
3. Perceived Difficulty: Subjects perceived as difficult or
requiring a lot of effort may be less favored by students.
4. Interest and Aptitude: Individual interests and aptitudes
vary, and students may naturally gravitate towards subjects
they enjoy or excel in, while disliking those they struggle with.

expectations to excel in certain subjects can affect students'
attitudes towards them.
Addressing these issues may involve incorporating more
interactive and engaging teaching methods, revising the subject
to make it more relevant and accessible, providing support for
struggling students, and encouraging a more holistic approach

I.3. LOCALITY (PALANAN)


In Palanan,Isabela the problem of students like and dislike
subject is challenging for every students. This can result to the
low grades of the students, not focusing on the subject, poor
performance in academic. Students struggling on their dislike
subjects because this subject not easily to understand for
them.

2. EFFECT OF THE SUBJECT


1. DISLIKE OF THE SUBJECT
Lack of motivation, students who dislike a subject may lack of
motivation to participate in class.
POOR PERFORMANCE
A subject can lead to lower grades due to lack of effort or
interest in learning.
BEHAVIORAL ISSUES
A subject may result also in disruptive behavior affecting not
only the student but also their peer.
2.LIKE OF THE SUBJECT
HIGHER PERFORMANCE
Liking a subject can lead to better academic performance as
students are more likely to invest time and effort in
understanding the subject.
POSITIVE ATTITUDE
Enjoying a subject can contribute to a positive attitude towards
learning, fostering curiosity, creativity and a desire for
continued learning.
3. IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY
The importance of this is study is it can help the students who
are having like and dislike subject to identify what they need to
improve and give a focus on the subjects .The study about
students' likes and dislikes regarding different subjects is of
significant importance in the field of education. Understanding
students' preferences can help educators and policymakers
make informed decisions and student engagement strategies.

Studying students' likes and dislikes regarding subjects is crucial


for personalized learning, motivation, curriculum development,
and student well- being. By incorporating student preferences

1. What are the key factors that influence students' preferences,
making them like or dislike certain subjects in school?

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

1.GENERAL PROBLEM
This study aims to identify the factors that influence to like and dislike
their subject, identifying the possible effect to the students in their
academic performance, especially in Palanan National High Schoo,
Palanan Isabela S.Y 2024-2025.This study will helpful to the students
who are having like and dislike subject.

2.SPECIFIC PROBLEM

1.Why does the students having dislike a subject?

Some of the students said that they are having dislike a subject because
of the difficulty of it they are not interested to some subject because it
is not easy to understand.

2.Why does the students having a like subject?

Base on the students, they are enjoying a subject if it is easy to


understand, it can lead to better academic performance because they
are interested and motivated to the subject.

IDEAL

1.What are the importance of studying the effect to the students who
are having like and dislike subject?

Studying the effects of students' likes and dislikes for different subjects
is important because it helps educators understand how these
preferences impact students' academic performance, engagement, and
overall well-being. By gaining insights into these effects, educators can
tailor their teaching methods and support systems to create a more
effective and engaging learning environment. This, in turn, promotes
higher levels of student motivation, personalized learning experiences,
informed career choices, and overall student well-being.

CONSEQUENCES

1.What are the benefits of the students knowing the importance of the
study having like and dislike subject?

When students understand the importance of studying, regardless of


their likes and dislikes for specific subjects, it brings several benefits.
Firstly, it helps them develop a growth mindset, recognizing that
learning is a continuous process that expands their knowledge and
skills. Secondly, knowing the importance of studying encourages
students to persevere and put effort into subjects they may not
naturally gravitate towards, fostering resilience and determination.
Thirdly, understanding the importance of studying allows students to

ensuring they have a well-rounded foundation of knowledge.
