ANNOTATION

4. Displayed proficient use of Mother Tongue, Filipino and English to facilitate

teaching and learning.

As a classroom teacher, I understand the significance of proficiently using Mother

Tongue, Filipino, and English to enhance teaching and learning experiences, aligning
with the standards outlined in the Department of Education's Philippine Professional
Standards for Teachers (PPST). During my lessons and classroom observations, I ensured
that I effectively communicated with students in their Mother Tongue, fostering a deeper
connection and understanding of the content. Integrating Mother Tongue into instruction
not only facilitated clearer explanations but also promoted cultural appreciation and
linguistic diversity among students.

In addition to Mother Tongue, I recognized the importance of proficiently using Filipino,

the national language, to promote unity and national identity in the classroom.
Incorporating Filipino into my teaching allowed me to connect with students from
various linguistic backgrounds and regions, ensuring equitable access to education for all.
Moreover, by using Filipino alongside English, I provided students with opportunities to
develop language proficiency and cultural awareness, preparing them for success in both
local and global contexts.

Furthermore, I prioritized the development of English proficiency among my students,

recognizing its significance in the international arena. By proficiently using English
during instruction, I equipped students with the language skills necessary for higher
education and future career opportunities. Through activities such as reading
comprehension exercises, discussions, and presentations, I encouraged students to engage
with English language content effectively, fostering critical thinking and communication
skills.

Throughout my lessons and classroom observations, I demonstrated a commitment to

integrating Mother Tongue, Filipino, and English into instruction, ensuring that all
students had equitable access to quality education. By embracing linguistic diversity and
promoting multilingualism in the classroom, I created an inclusive learning environment
where students felt valued and empowered to succeed academically and culturally. My
efforts aligned with the principles of the PPST, emphasizing the importance of
proficiently using multiple languages to facilitate teaching and learning in the Philippine
context.
