CASE #1:
Michael chairs the monthly meeting for the Sales Department of Finer Holdings. At the last
meeting he was concerned as there were a number of disruptive participants at the meeting.
Two of the sales representatives (John and Chris) were quite argumentative about new sales
procedures that will be introduced. They believe the existing procedures are ‘good enough’ and
wanted to know why they should change. They tended to dominate the meeting without giving
others enough opportunity to comment on the changes.
James, also a sales representative, seems to waste time by constantly repeating the same point,
even when the meeting has moved on to another agenda item.
The administrator officers (sally and Anu) are constantly whispering and giggling, having their
own conversations.
