Serum Anti-HIV - 1 & 2
Patient
Non-Reactive
Cutoff
Value 1.00 Value 0.06
Non Reactive < 1.0 | Reactive 1.0
Electronically verified report. No signature required. Lab reports should be interpreted by a physician in correlation with clinical and radiologic findings.
Interpretation:
1)Anti-HIV-1/HIV-2 test is a screening test of asymptomatic individuals or patients with signs and symptoms of chronic infection.
2)This test is performed on fourth generation assay which detects both HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies as well as HIV P24 antigen.
3)A reactive Anti-HIV-1/HIV-2 test indicates that the person is considered HIV-infected, and further testing needs to be done for
confirmation. These are:
(i) An HIV-1/HIV-2 antibody differentiation immunoassay which confirms the results of the combination assay and also
provides information as to whether the patient is infected with HIV-1, HIV-2, or both viruses.
(ii)A plasma HIV RNA level by PCR.
4)A non-reactive Anti-HIV-1/HIV-2 test indicates that the person is not considered HIV-infected and no further testing needs to be
done.
Methodology: Anti-HIV-1 & 2 test performed on fully automated Chemiluminescence Immunoassay Analyzer (Abbott- Alinity i)
using FDA Authorized reagent Kits.

Serum HBsAg
Patient
Non-Reactive
Cutoff
Value 1.00 Value 0.26
Non Reactive <1.0 | Reactive 1.0
Interpretation:
1)It can be detected in high levels in serum during acute or chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection.
2)A reactive HBsAg test indicates that the person is infectious.
3)A non-reactive HBsAg test indicates that the person is not infectious.
4)In patients who subsequently recover, HBsAg usually becomes undetectable after four to six months.
5)Persistence of HBsAg for more than six months implies chronic infection.
6)HBsAg is the antigen used to make hepatitis B vaccine. So, it can also be reactive for a few days after Hepatitis B vaccination.
Methodology: HBsAg test performed on fully automated Chemiluminescence Immunoassay Analyzer (Abbott- Alinity i) using FDA Authorized reagent Kits.

Serum Anti-HCV
Patient
Non-Reactive
Cutoff
Value 1.00 Value 0.07
Non Reactive < 1.0 | Reactive 1.0
Interpretation:
1)Anti-HCV is a screening test for hepatitis C which detects antibodies to Hepatitis C virus Infection.
2)A reactive Anti-HCV test indicates that the patient has chronic HCV infection.
3)A reactive Anti-HCV test should be followed by HCV RNA testing by PCR.
4)A non-reactiveAnti-HCV testindicates thatthe patientdoes nothave chronicHCV infectionand doesnot warrantfurther
evaluation.
5)False-negative Anti-HCVtest (non-reactive)can beseen inpatients withseverely immunocompromisingconditions, on
hemodialysis, or with suspected acute hepatitis C infection.
Methodology: Anti-HCVtest performedon fullyautomated ChemiluminescenceImmunoassay Analyzer(Abbott- Alinityi) using

HAV IgG
Patient
Non-Reactive
Cutoff
Value 1.00 Value 0.31
Non Reactive < 1.0 | Reactive 1.0
Electronically verified report. No signature required. Lab reports should be interpreted by a physician in correlation with clinical and radiologic findings.
Interpretation:
1)A reactive hepatitis A virus (HAV) IgG test indicates previous exposure or immunity to hepatitis A infection.
2)Serum IgG antibodies appear early in the convalescent phase of the disease, remain detectable for decades and are associated
with lifelong protective immunity.
3)A non-reactive HAV IgG test indicates no previous exposure or immunity to hepatitis A infection.
4)Detection of anti-HAV IgG in the absence of anti-HAV IgM reflects past infection or vaccination rather than acute infection
Methodology: HAV IgG test performed on fully automated Chemiluminescence Immunoassay Analyzer (Abbott- Alinity i) using FDA
Authorized reagent Kits.

Serum HAV IgM
Patient
Non-Reactive
Cutoff
Value 1.00 Value 0.43
Non Reactive < 0.8 | Borderline 0.8 - 1.2 | Reactive >1.2
Abbott Alinity-i HAVAb IgM Assay.
Interpretation:
1- A reactive test indicates recent or acute infection with Hepatitis A Virus (HAV). The IgM antibodies typically develop early in the
infection and peak about 1-2 weeks after the development of Jaundice and may persist for several months.
2- A non-reactive test indicates no recent or acute infection with hepatitis A virus. However, a non-reactive result does not rule out
a recent infection, as the sample might have taken too early for the antibodies to be detectable.
3- The borderline result should be repeated after one to two weeks.
Methodology: This test is performed on Abbott Alinity-i by using chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA).
Reference:Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
Note: The change in methodology is effective from 21-FEB-2023
