II. RATIONALE

Intramurals are an opportunity for students to compete against their classmates in various
sports. The purpose of this program is to provide fun, safe and structured play experiences that
promote the physical, mental and social development of every child. Our aim is to provide
opportunities for every individual, regardless of ability, to participate in a sport activity that will
develop skill and interest in a friendly, recreation-centered environment. All intramural programs
are subject to change without notice due to student and advisor’s availability.

Intramurals can foster school spirit and a sense of belonging for all students. These are a
great way to increase student engagement by providing students with opportunities to interact
socially with their peers, which fosters a sense of belonging, positive mental health and greater
engagement in both academic and non-academic activities. Participation in intramurals helps
students further develop their social skills, cooperation, teamwork, physical literacy and overall
health. Intramurals involve students in school decision making processes and encourage them to
be school leaders who share the responsibility of planning, organizing and implementing
physical activity opportunities for others.

OBJECTIVES
 To prepare students to the higher meet.
 To develop the skills of the students in different sports and help develop self-confidence.
 To promote sports management relationship between teachers and to the school.
