Module Description
Aims:
The aim of this training module is to provide participants with the operational knowledge and diagnostic skills necessary to
troubleshoot the R1700G LHD STIC Steering System.
Nominal Duration:
The module is designed so that most of the trainees will acquire the knowledge in one 4 hour session. The length of time
actually taken to complete the module will vary depending on factors such as the teaching method used, the trainee’s
knowledge and skills at entry, and the individual trainee’s ability.
Pre-Requisites:
Mechanical tradesman - should have completed a Basic Hydraulic Training Program (preferred but not essential).
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of studying this module, participants should be able to:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of the function and operation of the STIC Steering system and its components.
2. Use and understand the STIC Steering system schematic.
3. Trace the oil flow through the STIC steering system during all modes of operation.
4. Apply this operational knowledge to troubleshoot a series of STIC Steering system problems.
5. Use the Service Manual and Parts Book to assist with troubleshooting.

are as follows:
Red - System or High Pressure.
Orange - Pilot Pressure.
Blue - Blocked or Trapped Oil.
Green - Tank or Return Oil.
