good morning teacher and classmates, today I am going to talk about a
problem that is already well known to people since it is not the first time it has
been mentioned, but today this problem is becoming more and more notorious
and yes, we are talking to change the weather.
as many have already said and have managed to notice, climate change is
already a reality. The global average temperature of the earth's surface has
increased by almost 1 degree since the middle of the last century due to excess
greenhouse gases, which is harming both our ecosystems and our ways of life.
The loss of masses of ice at the poles, the rise in sea level and, in general, the
warming of our planet's atmosphere and oceans are irrefutable signs to take
action.
The timid legislative scientific advances achieved at the local and
international level still do not measure up to the real magnitude of the
problem. They have said that not only will it be necessary to stop burning
fossil fuels in this century, but it will be essential to put Adequate mechanisms
are in place for communities and ecosystems to adapt to the worst impacts of
climate change.
the scientists said that in Spain and in the rest of the industrialized countries
we only live 20% of the world population, however, we are the main
responsible for climate change; we practically emit 75% of the total
greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
they said it before The science has been very clear: if between now and the
end of the century we allow the average temperature of the Earth (14ºC) to
rise more than a degree and a half, practically all ecological systems will be
compromised.
The warming will mainly affect the most impoverished countries and with less
historical responsibility, but the industrialized countries will also suffer the
impacts. Without going any further, in Spain they have already experienced a
massive loss of biodiversity and marine coastline, in addition to
desertification, fires and an increase in the intensity and frequency of heat and
cold waves. that is why we have to act now.
I will be honest with you:
Climate change affects us all. The potential impact is enormous, with
predictions of a lack of safe drinking water, vast changes in conditions for
food production, and an increase in death rates due to floods, storms, and heat
waves, adding to the fact that most of us Humans are the main cause of our
planet being like this, not just natural disasters. we must protect our home as
residents of this planet, we have to put a hand on our chest and reflect on how
we have been living up to now, because if we don't, we will only kill this
planet faster than normal, maybe when we leave this world won't be a big deal
for us, but our future generations will suffer, and no one deserves that, that's
why if we have a little empathy, we should improve how we live and the
environment in which we live. And maybe just maybe, we can succeed in
what I want and many other people want to do, try to make this world a better
place and make it last for many more years.
