A) Read the story: “The Ant and the grasshopper”.
The Ant and the Grasshopper were neighbours. They lived in the forest and they were very
good friends. Every morning the Ant woke up early to work but the Grasshopper always woke up
late. The Ant liked working hard and the Grasshopper liked sleeping very much and playing the
guitar. They loved each other a lot.
It was spring and the Ant woke up early to collect food. She collected strawberries, apples and pears.
The Grasshopper woke up at midday and collected the food for the day and fell asleep. He also played the
guitar, and the Ant liked it.
The months passed by and it was autumn. The weather was getting colder and it was more difficult
for the Ant to get up early. But the Ant woke up early every day and worked really hard. She collected
more food and saved it in her house. The Grasshopper wanted to play with the Ant but she didn’t stop
working. The Ant told the grasshopper that he also had to collect food for the winter but the Grasshopper
continued playing his guitar in the sun.
Winter finally came and the Grasshopper didn’t find any food to eat. He was very hungry and became
very weak. The Ant felt sorry for him and invited him to her house. They spent the winter together and
became really good friends. The next year they worked hard together. The Grasshopper learned his
lesson!
