Officiant’s Speech:
Thank you everyone for being here today for the marriage of two
people who I hold very dear. As we are gathered here today, I couldn’t
help but look back at the journey that has led us to this ceremony.
Of these two, I had actually met Owen first in middle school orchestra,
and though he would sit on the opposite side of the room. Now Mindy I
did not meet until later in high school orchestra, us both playing the
cello. I remember very clearly when she would tell us about her crush
on Owen, and she would talk about his piercing blue eyes and dark
fluffy hair. In that time, I had no idea that the person Mindy was talking
about sitting across the room would, in just a few years, become her
husband.
It is rare that friends from high school remain close after departing to
the next stages of their lives. Despite these odds, today nine former
students and friends come back today to celebrate. On Mindy’s side,
Drew, Katelin, and I are all so happy that we all could be here to see the
next chapter in the life of one of our own. On Owen’s side, Grant,
Brendon, Cameron, and Justin come to support their longtime friend.
Mindy, I am so filled with excitement and joy for you in this beautiful
event you and Owen have created. You are truly a go getter, and I am so
grateful to have been a part of all of your lives so I could see you here
today.
How beautiful a day, that is touched by love. This ceremony today marks
the uniting of two incredibly intelligent, talented, and purposeful
individuals.
Your journey began as high school sweethearts, but you stand here
today as adults ready to solemnize a commitment that you have been
living daily for years. Here, you gain an equal partner that will be your
confidant, your defender, and your motivator throughout all of your
aspirations and goals.
Mindy, I have never seen you look more beautiful than today next to
your husband, nor Owen more handsome than next to your wife. I truly
wish you two the best, and I know you will be great together.
Vows:
And now, Mindy will read the vows she has prepared.
*Mindy reads vows*
Owen will now read the vows he has prepared.
*Owen reads vows*
Exchange of Rings:
The couple will now exchange rings as a physical symbol of the promises
they’re making today. Mindy and Owen have chosen these rings as
proof of their unending love.
Brendan will now bring forth Mindy’s ring. *Ring on finger*
And Katelin will now bring forth Owen’s ring. *Ring on finger*
We will now state the final vows for the couple.
Do you, Owen, take Mindy to be your wife. Do you swear that you will
love, honor, cherish, respect, and comfort her, in good times and bad, in
sickness and in health? Do you promise to share your joys and sorrows,
help her when she needs help, turn to her first when you need help, and
be faithful to her alone?
*I do*
And do you, Mindy, take Owen to be your husband. Do you swear that
you will love, honor, cherish, respect, and comfort him, in good times
and bad, in sickness and in health. Do you promise to share your joys
and sorrows, help him when he needs help, turn to him first when you
need help, and be faithful to him alone?
*I do*
Before these witnesses, you have pledged to be joined in marriage. I
now pronounce you, husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!
*Unveil and Kiss*
Closing Remarks:
If you all would remain where you are, we are going to be taking a
photo of the group. Afterwords, you are free to disperse and mingle
while the new married couple takes individual pictures.

the back to begin opening remarks*
Welcome friends and family, we are gathered here today to celebrate
love and union in the marriage of Mindy Kennedy and Owen Ingles. On
their behalf, I thank you for your presence here today, and for caring for
this young couple throughout the years. With this love and support, the
couple begins a new chapter on this beautiful autumn Saturday.
Before we begin, I will ask all guests to make sure devices are turned to
silent, but pictures and videos are encouraged during the ceremony.
After the closing remarks, I will ask to please remain where you are so
we may take a picture of the group, and then you may file out so we can
make room for pictures of the bride and groom.
