Closing the Gap Action Plan Year: February-May 2011 Target Group: Emerging Scholars 9th grade Target
Group selection is based upon the following criteria: Students are not as familiar with Career and College choices. Ninth grade students also receive the least attention by the counselors at White Plains HS. Data that drove this decision: Discussions with Mr. Silverman about the rate Emerging Scholars drop out of their honors courses and that the counseling department is shifting to accommodate 9 th grade students next year due to the lack of resources they get currently.
