PHYSICAL

In this subject,
we read about
various activities
which are
necessary for
the development
of the body.

In the beginning
physical
education was
used in terms of
physical activitie
s and it was
essential
for peopleto
survive but later
the meaning of
physical
education
changed many
times
during civilization
and it
wasconfused with
physical training

physical culture,

and recreation
but it is

terms.

Physical
Education is
a combination of
two words,
physical and
education. Physic
al means related
to bodyor related
to any one or all
of the bodily
characteristics
that include
strength,
physical
endurance,
fitness,physical
appearance and
physical health.
Education
means preparatio
n for life or
systematic instru
ction andtraining.

According to
Charles A
Bucher,
“Physical
education is an
integral part of
total education
process which
hasits aim as the
development of
physically, mental
ly, emotionally
and socially
fit citizens
through the
medium
ofphysical
activities which
have been
selected with a
view to realising
these outcomes
.”

PHYSICAL
EDUCATION
The aim of
physical
education is the
wholesome
development of
personality of an
individual by
making
anindividual
physically fit,
mentally alert,
emotionally
balanced, socially
well adjusted,
morally true and
sociallyuplifted.A

physical education

every child
