The Magical

Mansion

While their heads laid against their pillows, without a care in the world, the
streets continued to roam with cars, the sirens in the distance from
ambulances, and fire trucks still continued to roar, but its common knowledge
that teenagers can sleep through almost anything. Almost.
“Are you guys seriously still asleep!” Mum barged into the room
hurriedly.
“Go and do something, it’s the school holidays and you’re not going to
waste your time sleeping through it…now get up!”.
The teenagers rustled around, eventually pulling themselves out of the bundle
of bedsheets. “What are we going to do today you guys? My mum is right after
all, we can’t waste these holidays” Lena asked.
“Don’t ask me, I usually just spend my holidays reading.” Sakura
admitted.
Lena looks over at Yvonne who still had drool on her face from her deep sleep.
“Any ideas?”
“Maybe we can go on a hike!” She replied, “I love discovering new
things!”
“She’s right,” Lena agreed, “An adventure could be fun!”
“What are you guys waiting for then? Let’s go!” Sakura exclaimed.

The teenagers hurried out the front door and rushed to the bus stop, catching
the first bus that came through. The smell of the soccer boots overwhelmed
their noses as the young boys heading off to practice sat nearby. As the bus
ventured more and more out of the city, it got darker and foggier. When they
could no longer recognise where they were, they felt they had ventured too far
and got off at the next stop. It was so dark that they couldn’t see a thing. Only a
faint green wisp emitted from the darkness, it was the only light they could see
so as teenager do, they decided to follow it.

They entered a forest; it wasn’t as creepy as they had imagined it would be.
The forest was exceptional. The trees were taller than the Q1 building and had
lavender purple leaves, sky-blue trunks with bright-green square berries. There
were shrubs of all shapes and sizes with a variety of different colours. There
they saw the glow they were following.
A mansion was on the top of the hill, shining brightly. So bright they had to
shield their eyes. They decided to explore the gleaming tower but there was a
hill to climb first. Suddenly, a silver spider floated down on Yvonne’s shoulder.
The spider was silver and shiny like a clean glass ornament. It simply stood and
made a web out of fine silk and pointed. It squeaked to Yvonne, and she could
understand it. She nodded to the spider and waved. The spider squeaked again
and vanished in glittery smoke but dropped a silver pendent. Yvonne picked up
the pendant curiously and climbed the web. They decided to take a break from
the adventure because they were tired. They were also starving. There were no
animals to hunt and no berries to pick, but mysteriously, food appeared in a
neat order from meat, berries and then drinks. It was a freshly made and was
still steaming out hot air. Suddenly, a beautiful and jade-green owl with
aquamarine crystals dangling on its wings appeared flying swiftly in circles until
it landed on Lena’s shoulder. The owl appeared to be talking to Lena and
vanished like the spider did but with green swirls and also dropped a jade
pendant. After they finished their food, Lena picked up the pendant and they
continued to follow the glow emitting on the peak of the hill. Suddenly, they
fell in a pit that was 7 meters deep and very wide. They couldn’t get out and
even when they combined their height, they were only 4.6 meters tall. They
were about to give up when a snake drifted down. The snake was galaxy with
sparkles like glowing stars shining brightly on its scales. It was just there with its
head up on Sakura’s shoulder when three stars came flying down. The snake
hissed to the stars and then to Sakura and pointed to the stars. It vanished with
a small super nova and dropped a delicate galaxy pendant along with directions
from the spider, owl and the snake. Sakura picked up the pendant and the
direction for how to get in the mansion. The directions were simple, and it gave
them two hints. One was about the tune, and one was about the pendant.

Sakura showed the note to her friends and kept going. They have arrived at the
mansion. “Wow…...” Yvonne sighed.
“It’s so…” Lena started.
“Amazing.” Sakura finished dreamily.
“Should we go in?” Lena asked, unsure of which.
“Let’s go!” Yvonne decided excitedly. The door automatically opened when it
sensed the pendants. In the mansion, there was a Stradivarius viola hanging on
a glowing silver door. The wood was made of spruce and maple wood and only
twelve left. Yvonne loved it and was an expert at violas, so she stepped up to
the instrument but then, she noticed the D string is missing! She grabbed for
her pendant and it shone brightly and vividly. The silver spider floated down
again and sang musically on a note. Then, a silver piece of silk got woven
together and drifted to the viola. It shone and glowed, then, the spider
vanished in a puff of smoke.
The second door glowed jade green an Hentizman crystal piano appeared in
front of it. One of the little hammer in the piano was missing. Since it was
glowing jade green, Lena stepped up and took her pendant. It glowed like the
door and the owl appeared with feathers in its wings. The jade bird put
pressure on them and replaced it in the spot where the hammer used to be.
The owl glittered away majestically, leaving the piano as good as new.
The third door glowed white and purple, and two maracas appeared. Sakura,
the only one left, showed her pendant to the glowing door, and the snake
appeared with beautiful silver and white scales. The snake let the scales touch
the silent maraca, carefully putting the scales in a shape. The scales slowly
drifted towards the maraca, letting it slowly wrap around it. Once the scales
dissolved, the maraca floated up to eye level and shook in a steady rhythm,
finally drifting down to the floor, in front of Sakura. Sakura slowly picked up the
maraca with care and started to shake it in the rhythm the song that the
mansion was playing. They played together in a lovely tune when suddenly, the
centre glowed and two chests appeared. One was opening, glowing with a sign
of a house with a white key and the other was locked. The key had a note
saying, ‘Go Home Key’ and the other was a riddle, but they went all over the
forest and still discovered nothing, so they touched the ‘Go Home Key’
hopelessly. The key glowed and shone, the light more and more blinding…Then
they suddenly woke up and stared at each other. Was that adventure real or
was it just a dream? They were still on their bed in their pj’s. They couldn’t
have a dream all the same. Or could they?
