Connecting front and back to form the sleeves. The foundation chain will go
across the back of your neck and across the shoulders. The two narrower panels
will drape over your shoulders to form the front. We are going to create the
sleeve now by attaching the front panels to the back, horizontally at this point.
This will create the seam below your arm. We will begin connecting by working
from the outside edge moving towards the middle of the work. Get your garment
folded now with RS facing in. Picture on Next Page. An Arrow will indicate
where we will be working.
*If you fold the garment and feel like you need more room for you arm to fit
through, you may complete row 20 multiple times. Just make sure you end up
with the correct number of ch sps on all panels before moving forward.

back together) ch 1 turn; sc in 1st st at edge of front and back pieces together, ch 1, sc in 1st ch sp

*From here, you may customize by repeating the rounds as many times as you like for length. I ended here
with both fingering and Sport versions. I did give my dress a really good stretch long ways though to
tighten my stitches and gain some length.
Inside border, on RS (flip garment right side out): You can either add a row of DC or SC sts
to the border. I will show pictures of each option on the next 2 pages.
When creating a border and working along the edge of rows: I put 3 sts per edge of each dc
row, 1 st per edge of each sc row, and 4 sts when working along the edge of a tr row. Don't
worry too much about stitch count, but try to be consistent.
Border in sc instead of dc sts
Attaching Front Panels Together: Turn WS out, with an upholstery needle add a
running st through the outside loops only of the garment. Continue stitching up
keeping both sides aligned. Stop when you have reached where you would like
your neckline to begin.
Add a round of dc sts to RS of sleeve, FO and repeat on other side. Don't worry
about st count, just keep your sts even
Optional Fringe on Skirt: Cut 4 strands of yarn that reaches from the hem of the skirt to 6''
past the ground for maxi length. Fold yarn in half, slip loop formed by folding yarn in half
through any ch sp at bottom of garment. Pull ends of yarn through loop to create a sl knot.
Repeat in each ch sp all the way around. Add fringe to row of sc sts connecting pieces at
center
Divide each piece of fringe into 2 sets of 4. Tie the outside groups of
neighboring fringe together about 1'' down- forming new groups of 8 strands
Repeat to make a 2nd row of knots, you can add a 3rd row too if you like
Add fringe to about every 5 sts on the sleeve, starting at the top and doing the armpit
last. This way if you have a strange number of sts between the final two bits of fringe, it
will be concealed. Trim all fringe at the end if you like.
Make a ch of 230-260-290-320 for belt to tie at waist, add more
chains if necessary
row 1: Dc in 4th ch from the hook and in each ch across, FO.
If you want to wear your dress off the shoulder, on RS add a final
round of sc sts to the neckline, working around thin elastic cord as
pictured, FO and Weave in ends!
