Superb Tailored-craft)-using recycle and indigenous materials.

I. BACKGROUND AND RATIONAL


As the Department of Education maintains its confidence to transition in full face to
face in-person classes from the previous various learning modalities due to the precautionary
measures during the surgency of Covid 19 virus brings assurance for the academic development
of learners. All public and private schools in the whole country open its gate and welcome the
maximum number of enrollees they have.

Aside from the identified issues and concerns encountered before the full implementation
of classes like shortage of chairs and classrooms, many school administrators, faculty, and staff
together with their assertive stakeholders did their best to do remedies and solutions to identified
challenges in order bring the optimal quality teaching and learning experiences inside classroom
settings.

As full face to face in person classes continuous, other related issues and concerns will
and may arise that also needed to be foreseen and anticipated by the school administrators,
faculty, and staff especially on increase of number of waste disposals. Although this issue no
longer new, the needs to have effective ways to address this is much anticipated and needed to
identify and intensify to lessen the impact brought by mismanagement of waste disposal in the
campus.

The implementations of different initiatives, programs, activities, and projects related to


proper waste management are needed to strengthen and reiterated among learners for them to be
re-oriented, refreshed, and re-apply on their respective class homes and in the whole school as a
whole.

As a teaching institution, we are the great channel of good learning among our learners
instilling good and effective practices and ways to eliminate waste for the benefit of our
community and country, we are given the mandate to reinforce the programs and policies by our
constitutions to our schools that will make a great contribution in the realization of the good
aims and objectives of those issued policies and other related regulations initiated.

On the issued Executive Order No. 26, “Implementation of the National Greening
Program” under Ecological Solid Waste Management 2.2.1 states that along Republic Act 9003
Solid Waste Management Act Implementing Rules and Regulations, Part 6, rule 21, Section 2
enjoins the DepEd to aggressively incorporate ecological waste management in the school
systems at all levels, emphasizing on the involvement of school administrators, teaching and
non-teaching staff, and students in school wide and nearby community waste management
action. Also, under the said EO 2.2.2 Every school shall practice waste management principles
such as minimization, segregation at source, reduction, recycling, re-use, and composting, in
order to promote environmental awareness and actions among the students. Also cited on the
same EO 2.2.3 mandates to integrate curricula waste management concepts pursuant to R.A.
9512, entitled “An act to promote Environmental Education and other Purposes”.

In line with this, as teacher in Victoria High School hereby conceptualized and proposed
this Project ARTIST (Academic Reinforcement Through Inventions and Superb Tailored-craft)-
using recycle and indigenous materials in support to the programs and projects along waste
management practices not only in the school but also in support to Project Luntiang Puso para
sa luntiang Paraiso ng Quirino- an initiative of SDO Quirino and Quirino Malinis at
Luntiang Paraiso- project of Quirino province. In so doing, it is hoped that this conceptualized
initiative reorients, re-instill effective practices along waste management and put appreciation on
the importance doing such actions for the benefit of the school, community, and country as a
whole. Also, this initiative will be able to push learners to be innovative and creative in

reapplying the concept and content stipulated in their Arts competencies by repurposing,
reducing, reusing, and recycling things for sustainable and income generating outcomes.

Project ARTIST (Academic Reinforcement Through Inventions and Superb Tailored-


craft-using recycle and indigenous materials focused on crafting ideas and techniques
highlighting the basic philosophy of recycling and repurposing waste materials into more
purposeful outcomes or items. This project is to create treasure out of trash, to repurpose or up-
cycle our garbage. Furthermore, it gives the learner the skills of being creative and artistic and
instill value of respect to nature, empathy of doing good things-recycling, patience in crafting-
reusing, responsibility to help the community reduce the quantity number of waste disposals and
be benefited on the outcomes made potential for an income generating purposes.

This innovation expects an outcome that results from the execution of the idea applying
the competencies along MAPEH Most Essential Learning Competencies: Creates artworks
locally assembled with local materials guided by 21 st century techniques and applying different
media techniques to communicate ideas experiences A10PL-llh-4 & A10PR-llb-e-3 and
SCIENCE that may also uplift the academic performance of the learners.

II. OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTED OUTCOMES


Project ARTIST (Academic Reinforcement Through Inventions and Superb Tailored-
craft) using recycle and indigenous materials generally address the issues on waste disposals in
the school premises by practicing proper waste management applying the principles of recycling,
reducing, reusing, repurpose, or (4Rs). Hence, it is also a way of reinventing teaching innovation
along Arts and Science potential to increase performance of learners by upskilling and reskilling
their innate creativity and artistry and even possible for an income generating activity for the
benefit of the learners.
Specifically, the identified learners as identified group are expected to:

1. Participate in an orientation on the Ecological Waste Management and its


significance in climate mitigation and adaptation.
2. Capacitate learners through online or onsite trainings to upskill and reskill them
in creating and producing items out of recyclable and indigenous materials.
3. Employ an innovative and creative craftmanship out of available wasted materials
or locally assembled with local materials as means to develop the competencies
found on Arts MELC code: (A10PL-llh-4)
4. Use different media techniques to communicate ideas and experiences stipulated
on ARTS MELC with the code (A10PR-llb-e-3) as will serve as medium in
marketing product for an income generating activity.
5. Increase the learning performance of the learners along Arts by participating the
identified tasks and activities as a way promoting love for learning.
6. Produce outputs creatively and artistically done out of indigenous and recyclable
materials as a way of showcasing great craftmanship.

III. TARGET AND BENIFICIARIES


This innovation will benefit the following:
A. (Grade 10 Amethyst Learners) to motivate learners to be creative and artistic
in terms of demonstrating the expected competencies in making output along Arts
and Media arts in support to the Ecological Waste Management and National
Greening Program.
B. Teachers: To include this as an integration in their respective subjects in
adherence to the mandate of incorporating to curricula and adopt applicable
strategies and methodologies for more engaging learning experiences.
C. Parents: To encourage parents to support their children to be proactive learning
and in doing best practices along proper waste management experience as a good
advocacy campaign

G. Province of Quirino: To strengthen and reinforce the implementation of its clean
and green programs and projects in the whole province.

IV. LAUNCHING OF PROJECT ARTIST


The proponents need to seek approval from higher ups before implementing the project
to establish proper protocols and trust. Building trust among others will immediately encourage
effective communication and transport of ideas freely. This is particularly important when
different people are involved. It takes a conscious effort to quell the naturally occurring
competitive feelings involved especially when multiple organizations work together. Careful
considerations are always important most of the time.

DEVELOPING THE LEARNING GOALS


The most basic objective of Project ARTIST (Academic Reinforcement Through
Inventions and Superb Tailored-craft) using recycle and indigenous materials is to inculcate
the importance of Best Practices of Waste Management and empower learners to be active part
of this advocacy hence, it also capacitate learners to be a creative and artistic producer of
output made of recyclable and indigenous materials as embedded on the Art Most Essential

Learning Competencies (MELC) demonstrating the enthusiasm and interest of learning. Project
ARTIST will facilitate the motivation, encouragement and love on ARTS from the identified
and listed tasks to be accomplished by the learners supporting the waste ecological principles
stipulated on RA 9003 and Executive Order mentioned above.

ADOPTING THE PROJECT


It is increasingly being recognized that adopting of best practices along Waste
Management in and by institution-the School is a way of bringing significant impact on
reducing and eliminating waste disposals and cultivate the love and concern among Victorian
community for maintained and sustained clean environment as means of climate mitigation and
adaptation.
The adoption of the project will anchor on the listed procedures for the full
implementation of the said program.
 Organize training/ seminar that will capacitate learners on making or crafting art
outputs like basket making, corn-treading, plastic redesigning and etc.
 Conducting series of lecture and demonstration with the use of downloaded videos
from YouTube and TikTok and come up with their own self-made and modified
output.
 Conduct of series of output making displaying creativity and artistry.
 Organize culminating activity showcasing all the outputs made for appreciation and
recognition of the efforts shown and exerted.
 Organize an income generating activity to market the product of items created and
made via FB live and TikTok live.

DOCUMENTATION AND DISSEMINATION
The integration of best waste management practices to create inventive and innovative
outputs creating treasure out of trash and to repurpose for more usability of garbage as a great
way of reiteration the initiative of the issued policy along waste management shall be facilitated
through Project ARTIST thus, documenting the innovation project will contribute much to the
different personnel, clients and researchers. Written reportage shall be compiled for good
purposes and general purposes.

V. PROJECT DESCRIPTION, METHODS AND STRATEGIES


A. Description
Project ARTIST (Academic Reinforcement Through Inventions and Superb Tailored-
craft) using recycle and indigenous materials is an initiative project that set to address the
issues and concerns on waste disposals in school in the full implementation of in-person classes
in support to Solid Waste Management stipulated on RA 9003 and Executive Order no. 26.
Also, serves as mechanism to cultivate the interest and love for the Arts and uplift the concern
of learners to execute practices for waste management. This project innovation will be
implemented on November 15, 2022.
B. Methods and strategies
The proponent of this project determines activities to be taken before, during and after the
implementation of the project. Activities to be executed are the following:
1. Re-orientation of Republic Act 9003
2. Launching of Project ARTIST
3. Organize training workshops for capacity building among learners with the
help of invited experts/ speakers and in partnership with the DTI Aglipay and
other Local Entrepreneur

MONITORING
To ensure that the program activities are met, the proponent will ensure all the needed
preparation and noted significant monitoring reports capturing the progress and milestone on
the implementation of the project.

EVALUATION
Project ARTIST (Academic Reinforcement Through Inventions and Superb Tailored-
craft-using recycle and indigenous materials will devise and establish evaluation mechanism
after its implementation to identify the successes as well as the soundness and effectiveness of
the above-mentioned project and its set guidelines:

The conduct of the Project ARTIST will be using the M and E mechanism, feedback and
reporting and Constant coordination and meeting with the proponents and other involve and
concern people.
