LET US KNOW
A diary is a written record of personal experiences,
thoughts and feelings. It can be considered as a
friend with whom you can be yourself and share your
intimate thoughts and emotions.
In this lesson it may help you to write your own diary.

LET US REVIEW
Based on the short story “The Ant and the
Grasshopper” https://youtu.be/XPZXpuoIndo, what was
the results of the ant’s and grasshopper’s actions? What
was the problem aroused from those results and the
response of the character to the problem?
Write your answer on a separate sheet of paper.

LET US STUDY
Writing a Diary can be a private place where you
can keep thoughts, feelings and opinions on everything.
You can keep a daily record of the people you meet, the
exciting things you do at home, at school, or the
memories of a holiday or every events.

Study the 2 samples of a diary below.

In writing a Diary…
 Write the date on the top corner of a fresh page.
 You may address the diary as a friend and write
“Dear Diary,” or just continue to write your diary entry.
 Write the diary entry in the first person (I or we), since
this is your personal story.
 Write the events in the correct order.
 Provide important details of the place, time, people
or things that were part of the event.
 You can write about your feelings in detail and
explain why you feel that way.

 You can draw or stick pictures to make the entry
more interesting.

In your special moment or ordinary day, you can


write a diary to remember those memories. Just
remember to begin your entry by describing the day or
