For the facilitator:

Welcome to the TLE Grade 9 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on


Dressmaking !

This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators


both from public and private institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in
helping the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while
overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints in schooling.

This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help
learners acquire the needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration
their needs and circumstances.

depict skill, action and purpose. Through our hands we may learn, create and

What I Need to Know

This module was designed and written with you in mind. It is here to help you
master the nature of drafting pajamas shirt. The scope of this module permits it to
be used in many different learning situations. The language used recognizes the
diverse vocabulary level of students. The lessons are arranged to follow the
standard sequence of the course. But the order in which you read them can be
changed to correspond with the textbook you are now using.

The module is divided into three lessons, namely:

Drafting patterns for pajama shirt is usually one-half of the garment cut paper
used as guide in cutting the fabric.

The chart below shows the common symbols used in pattern drafting.
Common Pattern Symbols
Symbols Description
This means that you have to position your pattern on a
lengthwise grain of the fabric.

Lengthwise grain
This indicates that you need to position your pattern on a
crosswise grain of the fabric.

Crosswise grain

This signifies that your pattern should be positioned on a
fold fabric.

Centerfold

What is It

Discuss the procedure in drafting front bodice.

Preliminary steps:
1.Measure at least 5cm from the top portion of the pattern paper and 7cm from the side.
2.Make perpendicular lines.

1.Starting point mark it as A on the left side of your pattern.

2.From A,apply 8 cm, name it as B.

3.From A,apply the measurement of your bust point height name it as C.

4.From A,apply the measurement of your front figure name it as D.

5.From A,apply the measurement of your shirt length name it as E.

B.HORIZONTAL AND CIRCUMFERENTIAL MEASUREMENT:

9.From line C,apply ¼ measurement of your bustline name it as H, add 3cm


from H and name it as I.

10.From G downward measure 2cm name it as J.

Note : For front bodice do the same procedure/steps except for front
neckline because it is deeper than the back measurement it also measures 8cm
from A.

1. First, read the procedure properly.
2. If the symbol is not defined directly, read several times.
3. If possible, define the symbol based on your own past knowledge. You may
have learned the symbol in an earlier grade, or you may be familiar with it
because you see it everyday.
