PRACTICAL CANDIDATES ASSESSMENT
TIME: 3 HOURS
INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATE:
i. This paper consists of THREE tasks. Attempt all the tasks.
ii. Marks for the task are indicated
iii. You have ten minutes to read through the instructions and check availability of resources
for the practical.
iv. Any problem should be reported to the invigilator/supervisor immediately.
v. The assessor will record your performance at critical points
This tool consists of TWO (2) printed pages.
Candidate should check the question paper to ascertain that
all the pages are printed as indicated and that no questions are missing.

You will be provided with the following resources:
i) A working Computer
ii) Internet
iii) AutoCAD 2018
TASK 1 (14 marks)
i. Download Mozilla Firefox
ii. Install the Mozilla Firefox downloaded
iii. Set the Mozilla Firefox as the default browser
iv. Using the browser installed search for the ‘positive impact of
computers in learning institutions’
TASK 2 (25 Marks)
i. Create a new user account and name it “CDACC”. NB: Add a user
without a Microsoft account
ii. Switch to the account “CDACC”
iii. On the account “CDACC”, Change and Set the Desktop background,
Screen saver and lock screen to your preferred choice
iv. Download Clean up software for the appropriate operating system
v. Locate the downloaded software
vi. Run the installation software
vii. Launch the software
TASK 3 (11 marks)
i. Install AutoCAD 2018
ii. Activate AutoCAD 2018
iii. Start AutoCAD 2018
