V-stay
V-stays are a part of the rear air and leaf suspensions. The main function of V-stay is to keep the rear axle in position
(longitudinal/lateral) and allow vertical displacement/axle roll. The V-stay is fitted directly to the frame and rear axle.
The centre joint and two outer joints of the V-stay makes it possible to follow the vertical movements of the rear axle.

Additional function is to reduce transmission of noise and vibrations

from rear axle to frame.
Severe consequences might occur if the main function does
not remain.
Therefore, worn out joints and/or bearings must not result in
separation and loss of main function. This has been secured by a
redundant function in particular to air-suspended trucks.
