● Lex Talionis —> became Law of Love
○ An eye for an eye
● God’s Love is Universal

● Morality begins with incompleteness (limitations)
● Recognition that we lack something
● Concupiscence - tendency to commit sin

● Fall of Man ( Genesis Chapter 3)
○ Started from the cunning serpent
○ Serpent was beautiful before (possibly) and was cursed after such encounter with
Adam and Eve
● Humans are capable of living a life of Holines are also capable of living a life of evil and sin
● Number one reasoning “ Tao lang”
● Tendency to commit sin - concupiscence
● “Original sin is erased by Baptism, but concupiscence still prevails”

○ Original - sin of adam and eve passed down to us (Baptism)
○ Actual - turning away from God’s love and law
◆ Mortal - Deadly —> separation from God (Confession)

◇ Full Knowledge - “You know what you’re doing”

■ Not Mentally Incapacitated
◇ Grave Matter - depends on circumstances

■ Stealing from rich
■ Stealing from poor
◇ Deliberate Consent - Willfully did the action
■ Not forced
■ Not coerced
◆ Venial - Less evil —> Weakens relationship w/ God (Act of Contrition/Prayer)
