Introduction
The participation and position of women in the workplace is actually one of the most
important things that can create a country's human capital in economic development both in
terms of quantity and quality This is a topic with special meaning, when we recognize the
role of women as both one of the input factors of the product and the destination of the
development process. Many countries that have received this equipment formula have
developed policies aimed at improving the rate of growth of women's labor energy and
providing ownership positions for women in businesses. Nevertheless, the level and scope of
women's participation in the economy is in fact still established at a significant level,
especially in developing countries. In Vietnam, women's participation and position in the
economy is always important to the country's sustainable development. Vietnam's position on
international rankings on gender equality in economics also shows improvements in women's
participation in the economy in our country in recent times, focusing on entrepreneurship.
Women-owned enterprises are often only concentrated in informal sectors, employing labor,
so the size of the enterprise and its development potential.
Women in Healthcare
The majority of women hold important positions in the work of protecting and caring for
people's health. They constantly strive to improve their studies and apply modern techniques
to scientific research and apply them to the practice of protecting and caring for people's
health. The unique characteristic of healthcare workers is that they work in a high-intensity
environment and are subject to a lot of pressure from patients, patients' families and society
(Minh Chín Huỳnh, et al, 2023). Almost all stages at hospitals have female workers, but
perhaps the most complicated positions are the positions of the medical, nursing, and service
teams. This is work that is both heavy, complicated, toxic and sometimes dangerous,
especially in highly infectious departments such as tuberculosis, AIDS... and dangerous
epidemics in the current period (Magruder, Kathryn, et al, 2020). However, with the qualities
of women in the medical industry being intelligence, diligence, and kindness, women in the
medical industry always accompany their units to overcome difficulties and successfully
complete tasks.
Women in Education
Female teachers, and workers in education account for nearly 80% of the entire education,
and women are present in all areas of work: management, teaching, and administration. This
shows that the role of women is extremely important in the development of the industry. This
is the force that actively contributes to implementing educational goals, playing an important
role in improving the quality and effectiveness of education and training of the entire industry
(Huy, Nguyen Duc, et al.2021). In recent years, with the attention of all levels and sectors,
women in the education sector have had many opportunities to study and improve their
professional qualifications, develop professional skills, and conduct scientific research,
receive health care as well as be given favorable conditions at work to promote one's
strengths. Promoting the good traditions of Vietnamese women, constantly studying and self-
researching to improve professional qualifications and skills to meet the actual needs of work
and social development, They have achieved remarkable achievements, many women have
had innovative experiences, scientific research topics have been applied, bringing high
benefits, many women have received noble awards from the state, of all levels and sectors.
((Hoa Nguyen, et al, 2023)
Women in Finance and Management
Women's participation and position in the economy is important as it contributes to
determining both quantity and quality of human resources, improving economic gender
inequality, promoting growth and Sustainable Development. Until 2019, Vietnam has
achieved impressive results compared to other developing countries in terms of women's
labor force participation rate, the gap in employment rates between men and women is
5%. ,4% (Phuong Tran et al 2024). In 2022, women will account for 46.8% of the total 50.6
million employed workers over 15 years old in Vietnam. One of the key solutions to improve
the labor force participation rate and position of women in the economy is to promote female
entrepreneurship and develop female-owned businesses. VCCI (2019) report shows that the
rate of female-owned businesses has increased from 23.8% in 2018 to 34% in 2023 (Le Duy,
Binh, 2024). Statistics show that 25% of businesses in Vietnam are owned or led by women.
directed by women, higher than the South Asian average of 8%; About 5% of general
directors and executive directors of companies listed on the Vietnam stock market are women
(Huis, Marloes Anne, et al, 2019).
Women in Science and Technology
Currently, the number of women participating in scientific and technological research (S&T)
is increasing, and women are increasingly making great contributions to the construction and
economic development of the country. Through science and technology research activities,
women are increasingly asserting their position and role, and they have been honored and
recognized by the State, society, and community. In Vietnam, S&T is one of eight areas of
the national goal of gender equality. The number of female scientific research human
resources in Vietnam has increased (accounting for about 46% of the country's total research
and development human resources) (HT Duy, 2019). Women are increasingly making great
contributions to science and technology research, thereby contributing to promoting the
development of the country's economy. Through scientific research activities, many advances
in science and technology are exploited and transferred to production facilities, communities
and the whole society. In 2020, Vietnam had three female scientists elected to the list of
Asia's top 100 scientists by Asian Scientist magazine, Singapore. And there are many female
scientists who have been honored and named with awards and recognized by international
organizations...
Women in Entertainment
In the past, men were responsibility for most of jobs related to entertainment. Because the
amount of work is very large, it requires a lot of health, time, connection and interaction. Men
have better physical strength than women and have more time than women to pursue projects.
movie. However, with an increasingly developed society, the boundary between men and
women in entertainment is gradually blurring. The problem here is that no matter what
gender you are, as long as you have enough time, enough health, and enough perseverance,
you can absolutely pursue your passion (Lam, Bao, 2024). Women's social roles and
positions are equal, even superior to men in many aspects. Women come in many colors and
shapes, no one is the same, but each person creates their own value that deserves to be
honored and loved. To gain a foothold and make changes today, women have struggled and
made efforts to build gender equality movements. It is worth remembering that "#MeToo"
was initiated again in 2017, exposing the dark side of many entertainment industries. This is a
situation where female artists are often harassed and sexually assaulted. After one night,
50,000 people responded to her post. This movement then spread globally, and was strongly
responded by Vietnamese actors. (hanoimoi24)
Conclusion
Women's participation and position in the workforce is important as it contributes to
determining both the quantity and quality of human resources, improving economic gender
inequality, promoting growth and sustainable development. Until 2019, Vietnam has
achieved impressive results compared to other developing countries in terms of women's
labor force participation rate, the gap in employment rates between men and women is
5%. .4%. The gap between the proportion of trained workers between men and women during
this period also widened from 4.7% to 5.2% (Phuong Tran et al 2024). This demonstrates
vulnerability to objective economic fluctuations in women's ability to access jobs and the
quality of human resources in Vietnam.
