IV. PROCEDURES
A. Springboard/Motivation Introduce briefly the objectives of the course and its relevance to ALL learners. ALS learners will appreciate the wider relevance of
(Establishing a purpose for the lesson) Entrepreneurship as the topics unfold.

The focus of this subject is the second type of self-employment (being an entrepreneur). Hopefully, ALS learners will fully
appreciate the wider relevance of Entrepreneurship as the topics unfold.

Activity: Self-Assessment
Direction: Find out if you have the qualities of an entrepreneur. Put a check mark on the column that identifies whether you have
the qualities of an entrepreneur or not.
B. Activity Lesson Proper:

(sub-activity #1)  Choose one Filipino entrepreneur or successful practitioner in the locality.
 Identify the different skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur.
 Assess your own PECs vis-à-vis the successful practitioner/ entrepreneur.
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills Student activity:
(sub-activity #2)  Point out the advantages and challenges of being an employee vs being an entrepreneur.
 Share your outputs in the class.
 To provide an overall picture of the kind of business in the community, introduce micro, small, medium, large-scale
business.
 This topic can be discussed in more detail under Potential Market.
F. Abstraction (Making generalizations about the Present a situation similar to the following: With an increasing population, demand for jobs is increasing. Unfortunately, job
lesson) opportunities are not enough leaving many unemployed. The COVID 19 pandemic further caused a sudden dip in the economy
and many people lost their jobs. This created a space for people to come up with their own businesses. Hence, this subject on
Entrepreneurship.

Activity: Define me
Direction: Let learners share their own or family experiences related to the situation above.
Engage students in a conversation about the kind of employment or work their family members or neighbors engage in to earn a
living.
Clarify what is meant by being
a) employed (working in an office or agency and receives a salary from the employer)
b1) self- employed (working for oneself rather than an employer or being a freelancer e.g., a student tutor, a plumber, an
electrician, a dressmaker, a masseur, an on-call doctor, lawyer) OR
b2) self-employed (managing own business on his/her own account, employing people but taking responsibility for the success or
failure of that business. E.g., running a sari-sari store, a pandesal bakeshop, a roving food cart, a dressmaking shop, an online
selling business)

G. Application Activity: Situational


(Developing Mastery)
1. You saw your classmate who was inside the faculty room alone using your teacher’s computer. Your teacher never
allows anyone to be in the faculty room unattended. Your classmate looked up, saw you and knew you saw him. A few
days later, it was found out that confidential files have been lost and everyone is being questioned. Should you reveal
what you saw? Which is a better example of integrity: being honest or being loyal to a friend?
2. A sales staff is having difficulty assisting a foreign customer because he cannot speak English fluently. It was seen by the
manager. What should the manager do?
3. All finance staff have a meeting with suppliers at 9:00 in the morning. Because of an accident on the road, it causes
traffic and it is the reason why you came late. If you were the staff, what competency of entrepreneur you should have in
order to conquer the scenario?
