How EMF Technology Works
EMF Technology was developed with the US Department of Defense to combat germ warfare. The patented system uses a high energy field that raises the efficiency of filter media to 99,97% at 0.3 microns. The energy field is an effective "germ killing zone" which breaks through the DNA of viruses, bacteria, mould and fungi, trapping and killing them, as tested by independent laboratories. Designed and manufactured by HealthWay Products Company Inc from the United States of America, the HealthWay EMF (Enhanced Media Filtration) Air Purification system is used extensively in schools, government agencies, medical facilities, hotels, homes, commercial and industrial buildings in Singapore and around the world.

Comparison: Other Technologies
HEPA Filtration: Invented over 60 years ago, HEPA filters only trap but do not kill airborne viruses, bacteria, mould or fungi. Such micro-organism may continue to breed in the filter. True HEPA filters are dense and restrict airflow and have to be noisy to be effective. UV Light: Limited effectiveness in killing airborne microorganisms on direct contact. As air is dynamic, direct contact for consistent killing is minimal. UV light has no effect on chemical fumes, gases, smoke, as well as most odours and allergens. Once coated with dust, UV lights become ineffective and there is no way to monitor if they are working at peak efficiency. Ions: Negative ions attach themselves to airborne particulates to weigh them down for later removal by filtration or vacuuming. Ions do not kill airborne micro-organisms nor remove most airborne chemicals and odours. Ozone: Kills micro-organisms on surfaces but also harmful to humans and animals when inhaled. Ozone is listed by the US Environment Protection Agency as a dangerous contaminant for human exposure. It has very limited effectiveness against airborne micro-organisms. Filters: Charcoal, coarse, fine and other filters may trap various sizes of airborne pollutants depending on their design and composition. They do not kill any airborne microorganisms in the process and such organisms will continue to breed in the filter.
