Subject: Urgent Concern - Rising Petty Crimes in Our Colony
Sir,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a pressing issue that deeply concerns the residents of
Maya Enclave - the alarming increase in petty crimes, particularly chain-snatching incidents, by young boys on motorcycles
within our community.
These incidents have left our residents feeling increasingly insecure and anxious. To address this unsettling trend, I strongly
recommend implementing strict security measures, such as:
i. Increasing police patrols in our neighborhood.
ii. Enhancing street lighting for improved visibility.
iii. Organizing safety awareness programs.
er
iv. Encouraging residents to join neighborhood watch groups.
We must act swiftly to restore a sense of security in our beloved Maya Enclave.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sir,
Subject: Increasing Incidents of Mobile and Chain Snatching.
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to bring to your kind attention towards the deteriorating law and order
situation in the city. Many incidents of daylight mobile and chain snatching have been reported during recent days. The residents
of the locality are frequently becoming the victims of mobile and chain snatchers. Masked youth come on motorbikes, commit the
crime and run away without being caught or traced. All that has caused a lot of insecurity and fear among residents.
Repeated complaints have been lodged by the victims but to no avail. The officials just give assurance but nothing has been done
so far to control the situation. It has caused a lot of insecurity and fear among the residents and the absence of law and order in the
town has been making the culprits bolder.
There are cases of chain snatching and even kidnapping. None of these criminals is arrested so far. It seems there is no law and
order to control this kind of incidents. So, I request you to look into this matter and take necessary action immediately.
Thanking you
Yours sincerely,

Sir,
Subject: Increasing Cases of Theft
I want to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the alarming situation in our area. There is an atmosphere of
insecurity and fear in the entire locality. Approximately 5 cases of thefts have taken place during the last month. It has become
very difficult to go out, locking the house. Thieves sense it immediately and a little absence cost a lot to the owner and the most
dangerous situation is that they make damage not only to the property but also to life. If these unsocial beings find anyone tracing
them, they don't hesitate to attack them. All that has made the condition very miserable. Old people are the soft target for the
burglars.
Repetitive complaints have been lodged to the local law and order authorities but there is no positive change in the situation.
Rather the indifferent attitude of the police has encouraged the anti-social elements.
Now, I, on behalf of the residents of the locality, have decided to bring the matter to the attention of the concerned authorities
through the medium of your esteemed newspaper.
I request the higher authorities to take necessary action at the earliest so that we can lead a safe life.
Thanking you.

Subject: The Role of Media in Promoting National Integration
Sir,
I am writing to share my thoughts on the pivotal role of media in promoting national integration. As a recent participant in a
Ba

school project on this subject, I've come to realize the profound influence media wields in shaping our perceptions and fostering
unity.
Media platforms, be it television, newspapers, or social media, have the power to bridge cultural, regional, and linguistic gaps.
They serve as a platform for showcasing the diverse cultural tapestry of our nation, thus encouraging inclusivity. Moreover,
responsible journalism can educate citizens about the customs, traditions, and challenges faced by different regions, nurturing
empathy and understanding.
In a time when divisiveness sometimes takes center stage, the media can be a unifying force by highlighting stories of solidarity
and national pride. It is crucial for media outlets to continue this positive endeavour, as it plays a key role in nurturing a strong,
united, and harmonious India.

Sir,
Subject: Dengue-Prevention is better than cure!
In the past month, an alarming increase in the incidence of dengue cases in the city has been noticed which is a cause for extreme
concern and demands the immediate attention of the Health Care department, Municipal Corporation as well as of the general
public.

2 / 29
Dengue is a viral infection is caused by a virus which cannot be treated with antibiotics. It is treated with under Doctor's
supervision. precautions to prevent this terrible disease:
i. Dengue spreads through mosquito bites. To stop the transmission from one patient to another individual, it is necessary to use
mosquito nets at night
ii. Mosquito eradication is necessary for indoors as well as in neighbourhood; thus spraying of mosquito repellant is necessary.
iii. Limbs should be coated with mosquito repellant sprays and lotions.
High fever is a discernible symptom and may lead to complications due to lowering of the platelet count. Any bleeding during the
infection would be difficult to control. Severe cases may require blood transfusions.
Since, the carrier mosquito breeds in stagnant waters, close to human habitations, cleanliness of the environment is immensely
important and a key precaution for prevention. Vaccination is not an option and any previous infection does not guarantee
immunity as there are numerous viruses that cause it.
Awareness is immensely important to initiate preventive measures. I hope my letter will be published for the common good of the
people.
Thanking you,
Yours truly,
Varsha.

Subject: Awareness of Cleanliness.
I feel immense pleasure to state that our school won an award for maintaining cleanliness in and around our school.
We used to have talked in the morning assembly on the need to maintain cleanliness. The poster competition was organized on the
dangers of keeping school unclean. Proper implementation of 'Swachh Bharat Programme' was done under the trained N.S.S.
teachers. To motivate the students, arrangements were made such as microphone setup, projector with screen setup, etc. so that the
students, teachers and other staff can listen to the Prime Minister's talk on the maintenance of cleanliness. It was a joint effort.
Notice board on the campus displayed slogans- "Don't litter" and "clean campus-healthy campus". Rallies were taken out to make
the residents of the area aware of the need to maintain cleanliness. The whole school worked towards the set goal with dedication
for awareness towards cleanliness.

Sir,
Sub: Problem of Child Labour
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to raise my voice against the worst social evil-child labour. Childhood is the
best period of one's life but it is unfortunate on the part of children that, despite the ban on child labour, imposed by the
government, the practice is still prevalent in our society. Data shows that there are 12 million child workers in our country.
The root cause of the problem is lack of awareness and poverty. Poor parents send their children to earn, rather than sending them
to school. They seek financial support from them but this practice has an adverse impact.
I hope, through media, the general public should be made aware of the children's plight. Rules against child labour should be
followed strictly. Since destitution is the main driver of this issue and implementation alone can't help explain it, the Government
has been providing free education to the kids.
I hope you consider my letter.

Subject: Concern over growing accidents of Road Rage in Delhi
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the readers towards the serious issue of
growing incidents of road rage in Delhi. Now and then, we come across the news of road rage where people start fighting on the
roads on trivial issue. People are over-stressed these days and their frustration is often displayed through such incidents. They start
quarrelling on a matter of small collision or honking or even on the issue of parking. Generally, the fight starts verbally which
turns into a physical fight. Many incidents of serious injuries and death of people have been reported so far and hence it needs
immediate attention of everyone.
The government should come forward with strict legal provisions to stop these and the people should also learn to be patient and
tolerant in order to make Delhi roads safe to travel.

Subject: The Impact of Technology on Education
Dear Editor,
I am writing to share my views on the pros and cons of technology in education. Technology undeniably offers numerous
advantages, enhancing engagement and retention, promoting interactive learning, and equipping students with essential skills for
the future. It also provides access to current information, reducing costs and fostering technological proficiency.
However, amidst these benefits, technology can be distracting, potentially diminishing problem-solving skills and direct peer
interactions. Maintenance costs are high, and the authenticity of online information is sometimes questionable. Moreover,
overreliance on technology might affect effective communication skills.
While technology in education is a powerful tool, striking a balance and incorporating it thoughtfully into the learning process is

Subject: Poor roads and unsanitary conditions in Aram Nagar
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a resident of Aram Nagar. The roads in our locality are in terrible condition. The potholes and open manholes are like death
traps. Parts of the road were dug up for laying cables a while back and have not been repaired since. This has greatly
inconvenienced vehicle drivers and pedestrians alike. The pits and stones on the road have caused tyres of vehicles to puncture,
leading to falls and accidents.
Stagnant water in the potholes and pits on the road has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and flies, adding to the woes of
the residents. Adding to the misery, huge garbage dumps can be seen lying here and there, giving an open invitation to both
accidents and diseases.
The authorities should immediately pay attention towards the problem and roads should be repaired at the earliest under strict

I am writing as a concerned resident of Maya Nagar to shed light on a pressing issue plaguing our community – the severe

The lack of parking facilities has led to unfortunate incidents of short-tempered brawls and even physical violence among
residents. This not only disrupts the harmony of our neighbourhood but also poses serious safety concerns. Besides, most of the

To resolve this issue, I urge the local authorities to consider implementing the following measures:
The construction of designated parking lots within our colonies.
Strict enforcement of no-parking zones on roads.
Promoting carpooling and the use of public transportation.
It is imperative that immediate action is taken to alleviate this problem and maintain the peaceful coexistence of our community.

Subject: Rising Prices
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I want to express my deep concern regarding the rising prices. This inflation
has made the life of a common man very difficult. It was not so in earlier times when things were very cheap and were within the
reach of almost everyone. The worst hit is the fixed income groups like the salaried people, labour class and the pensioners. For
them, even the commodities of basic necessities like wheat, pulses, grains, vegetables, etc. are getting out of reach. The
government should tackle this problem in the best possible way. The hoarders, black marketers, and profiters should be dealt with

Subject: Importance of Subways
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I'd like to express my concern over the use of subways in New Delhi. Actually, these
infrastructures are meant to ease the traffic problem for pedestrians but instead of using subways, they are in the habit of jumping

occupied by vendors, there is stagnant water, accumulation of filth near or around these footpaths and people and throw garbage

Subject: Urgent Need to Address Child Labour Issue

Dear Editor,
I am writing to draw attention to the grave issue of underage children working in hazardous conditions, as highlighted in a recent

environments in dimly lit factories, tea stalls, and garages to support their families.
To combat this national problem, I urge the implementation of strict laws against child labour. Additionally, awareness campaigns

Subject: Importance of Education
Education plays an important role in our lives because it is true that education is key to success without education nothing is
possible in the world. It plays a significant role in the development of our society. Education brings many changes to our society.
If we want to develop our society, then we should get an education. I have been involved with an NGO called 'Verdict' for the past
two years. Our core field of work is to spread awareness about the importance of education and to provide education. In July
2012, we got 150 students admitted in Government and public schools under the provisions of RTEA-2009.
My experience with the NGO has been an overwhelming one, yet an eye-opening one too. A lot still needs to be done if we want
our country to develop and progress. One possible solution to this situation is to make it compulsory for 'Each One to Teach One.'
Along with this, if the schools are compelled to turn to afternoon classes and provide education to the lower strata people at
subsidized fees, the problem would be solved to a great extent.
Thus, I say that it is time to get education for making our futures more and brighter in the coming generation.

by the public to dump their garbage. The stench in the air is unbearable, not to mention the peril of an outbreak of infectious
diseases.
People attempts to counsel on the importance of community hygiene are being counter-argued, i.e. that in the absence of proper
dumping sites or dustbins, vacant spots are their only option. It is important that both the public as well as the authorities should
take up a collective responsibility to maintain a clean environment and contribute towards the common good.

I hope this letter of mine will awake the concerned authorities, will take prompt action and help in making the surroundings
healthy.

Dear Sir,
Subject: Complaint Regarding the Flat
I had bought a flat in the month of April from PQR Builders at Ganpati Apartments but I am very disappointed that the quality of
the flat, that you had promised, has not been delivered since April. Not even a year has passed and we have already started facing
a lot of problems. There are lots of cracks in the walls, floor and ceilings because of that seepage happens a lot. The wall paint is
peeling off, the colour of the wall of the hall and kitchen is fading and even the sanitary fittings are leaking but the greatest
inconvenience is caused because of the lift and no electricity for many hours. It gets stalled every day and we, especially the
senior citizens and the children in the family, have to face a lot of problems in this flat.
We did not expect these kinds of services from a renowned builder like you. Kindly look into the matter and do the needful.
Thanking you
Yours sincerely,

Dear sir,
With due respect and humble submission I Mukesh / Manju would like to inform you about the problems that the citizen of my

These stray dogs came here about 2 weeks back and are causing many problems to the local residents. These dogs chase the
vehicles that come and go from our street because of which many people especially those with children are finding it difficult to
get out of their house to get their essential commodities. Not only cars but these stray dogs have also started attacking the
residents and recently one of them bit a child who was playing with his friends in the park. Many residents have sent complaint
letters to the municipality but no action has been taken yet.
