Surface Planner

The surface planner is mainly use to remove the bend of the wood bars. It is consist of rotating blade at around 5000 rpm. Operator have to manually apply wooden bar to the machine and the surface of wooden bar. Mainly this machine is use to remove the bend of the bar. This will help to make the surface of the wooden bar smooth and levelled. Before wooden bars goes through the moulder four sider machine and thickness planner, this machine have to use.

Basic introduction

The surface planner is mainly use to remove the bend of the wood bars. It is consist of rotating blade
at around 5000 rpm. Operator have to manually apply wooden bar to the machine and the surface of
wooden bar.
Mainly this machine is use to remove the bend of the bar. This will help to make the surface of the
wooden bar smooth and levelled. Before wooden bars goes through the moulder four sider machine
and thickness planner, this machine have to use.

Procedure

First horizontal bed should be aligned 90 degree and make space by adjusting adjusters that is behind
the machine. Horizontal bed can be move forward and backward.

The vertical be consist of 2 parts. Right side can be adjusted, but left side cannot be adjusted. The
height of the right side can be changed by using the handle that situated underneath the right side
bed.

Then rod should push on the bed, through the rotating blade. Then the bended side can be removed.

Bended area

The horizontal bed can be adjusted by using the knobs and screws in behind the machine.
Sometimes black marks can be seen on the wood, because when sharping the hidden damaged will
come out.

If wooden bar not get a clear surface, it need to do one or more time to remove the bend.

1. Vertical bed height should be adjusted as required

2. Horizontal bed should be adjusted

3. Blade must check for broken places

Specific details:

The supporter should be use as a safety measure for the operator. Also it helps to steady the wooden
bar.
If the blade has damages, the wood bar get cutting on it. It can be seen by eye, if not it can identified
by using the hand.

The blades can be removed and replace. It can be done by removing rotating blade come in the front
side of the machine.

The horizontal bed can be angled, so it can use to plane wood as angled.

Cleaning and Inspection

 Before start the machine cleaning process power off by Main switch.
 Clean the planer blades & cutter head using brush and compressed air.
 Clean the cutter guard mechanism using brush and compressed air. Add few oil drops in to
spring mechanism.(oil SAE 30/40)
 Clean the vertical side guard and add oil drops on it.
 Machine Bed Height Adjustment Unit clean and Add few drops of oil in to the shafts .Repeat
it to the opposite side of the machine.
 Clean machine bed & surrounding.
 Check any damages on dust exhaust hose or connection.
 Check Emergency switch.
 If found any damage or loose part or safety malfunction, please call maintenance.
