COMET League
“Serve. Spin. Soar.”
COMET (Championship of Major Elite Table-tennis) is an exhilarating table tennis league hosted at Damodaram
Sanjivayya National Law University. This competitive league features six teams, each led by a dedicated captain
who employs unique strategies to outmanoeuvre their opponents.
Team Composition
Each match involves two teams, with each team consisting of five players.
The players are designated as Player A, B, C, D, and E* for each team.
Points Allocation
Each match is worth a total of 21 points, distributed across different game types.
Singles Matches 1 and 2
There are two singles matches in each team matchup.
Singles Match 1 features Player A from one team competing against Player B from the opposing team.
Singles Match 2 features Player C from one team competing against Player D from the opposing team.
Each singles match consists of three games, with each game contributing one point to the team’s total
score.
Doubles Match
The doubles match compulsorily involves players E* from each team and can be paired with any Player
A, B, C or D.
The doubles match consists of three games, with each game contributing one point to the team’s total
score.
Singles Matches 3 and 4
These singles matches are similar to Singles Matches 1 and 2.
Singles Match 3 features Player C from one team competing against Player D from the opposing team.
Singles Match 4 features Player A from one team competing against Player B from the opposing team.
Each singles match consists of three games, with each game contributing one point to the team’s total
score.
Final Game
This game involves all five players from each team participating.
Players alternate every four points, ensuring each player contributes to the team’s score.
The first team to reach 21 points in the Final Game wins, and their team is awarded six points for this
segment.
Total Points Available per Match
The total points available in each match is 21, distributed across the various game types as mentioned
above.
