The 6th annual Community Art Show is coming in February and the community is invited to participate. This is a special year, since the Nicola Valley Community Arts Council is celebrating their 30th anniversary. The Commuity Show begins February 3rd and runs through February 25th. Deadline for submitting work will be 6pm Thursday, February 1. In the past they have shown modeling, needlework, weaving, carving, flytying, woodworking, sculpting, drawing, and painting. This year, they are inviting you to submit projects that you have created & feel is art and is worth sharing. They are limited by the space at the gallery, but theyll attempt to find a spot for all submitted and accepted work. Works can be offered for sale during this exhibition. There will be prizes awarded to Best of Show, Viewers Choice, and Kids under 16. For more info, stop the Courthouse Art Gallery, 1840 Nicola Avenue. NVSAR will also be holding its regular monthly meeting on Monday January 9th at 6:30pm in the airport basement for anyone interested in attending. Monthly meetings are held the second Monday of every month at the airport. On Wednesday January 11, NV Search and Rescue will be holding a new class for Basic Ground Search and Rescue training.
