"How Velcro Got Hooked on Quality" makes clear that concentrating

only on internal quality control metrics and being complacent is

insufficient. The following justifies why firms should put quality
improvement above threats:

Enhancing quality is essential to a company's long-term performance

and ability to compete in the marketplace. Delivering high-quality
goods or services regularly raises consumer satisfaction, fosters brand
loyalty, and eventually boosts profitability. Furthermore, upholding
quality standards lowers the price of rework, warranty claims, and
customer complaints, increasing total productivity.

Through the establishment of precise quality goals, efficient resource

allocation, and promotion of a continuous improvement culture,
managers are essential in propelling quality improvement activities. To
make sure that initiatives for quality improvement are in line with the
organization's strategic objectives, they offer leadership, direction, and
support.

Employees are crucial in enhancing quality by carrying out their

regular tasks. They are responsible for carrying out quality control
operations, abiding by standard operating procedures, and quickly
recognizing and resolving any quality-related problems that crop up
throughout the production process.

Quality control inspectors are essential in guaranteeing that goods and

services fulfill predetermined criteria for quality. To find areas that
need improvement and put remedial measures in place, they carry out
in-depth inspections, evaluate data, and offer management and
employee input.

The principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) place a strong

emphasis on involving all stakeholders in the process of quality
improvement. This promotes a cooperative approach to problem-
solving and ongoing learning. Organizations can achieve long-term
improvements in quality, customer happiness, and overall performance
by incorporating TQM practices into their operations.
