Here's a simple and delicious recipe for banana fritters:
Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas (mashed)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup milk (you can adjust as needed)
1 egg
Oil for frying (vegetable oil works well)
Powdered sugar (optional for dusting)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the batter:
o In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
o Add the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using). Mix well.
o In a separate small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
o Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring until you get a
smooth batter. The consistency should be thick but still pourable. If it’s too thick,
add a bit more milk.
2. Heat the oil:
o Heat about 1/2 inch of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. The oil should be hot
enough to fry, but not smoking. Test by dropping a tiny bit of batter into the oil—
it should sizzle and start to brown.
3. Fry the fritters:
o Use a tablespoon or small scoop to drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil.
o Fry the fritters for about 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and
cooked through.
o Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess
oil.
4. Serve:
o Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with honey if desired.
o Serve warm and enjoy!
These banana fritters make a great snack or dessert, especially with a scoop of ice cream on the
side!
