B. REVIEW

C. MOTIVATION
I have here a chart called KWL chart. Before
that, are you familiar KWL? No, Ma’am.

A KWL chart has three columns. The first

column is 'K,' which stands for 'Know.' This is
where you write down what you already know
about the topic. The second column is 'W,' which
stands for 'Want.' Here, you list what you want to
learn or know about the topic. The last column is
'L,' which stands for 'Learned.' This is where you
note down what you have learned after exploring Yes, Ma’am.
the topic. Does everyone understand?

activity. I want you to fill in the first and second
columns of your KWL chart. Remember, do not
fill in the third column yet; we’ll come back to it
later. I will give you 5 minutes to finish it, is that
clear class?

D. PRESENTATION
Based on this picture what do you think the title of
the story?
The Crow & the Pitcher Ma’am

The answer is The Crow & the Pitcher. Now let’s

read the story about the crow and the pitcher.

E. DISCUSSION
The Crow & the Pitcher

In a spell of dry weather, when the Birds could

find very little to drink, a thirsty Crow found a
pitcher with a little water in it. But the pitcher
was high and had a narrow neck, and no
matter how he tried, the Crow could not reach
the water. The poor thing felt as if he must die
of thirst. Then an idea came to him. Picking up
some small pebbles, he dropped them into the
pitcher one by one. With each pebble the
water rose a little higher until at last it was
near enough so he could drink.

Everyone kindly read the story.

Let’s find out if you really understand the Yes, Ma’am

weather?
The Crow found a pitcher with a little water
After finding the pitcher, what problem did the in it.

Now thirst.
The process we made is sequencing the events. By
putting the events in the correct sequence, we can
better see how each action leads to the next, just
like how the Crow's actions step by step helped
him solve his problem.
Very Good!

Group 1 (Literacy)

Directions: Do you know how to prepare a fruit

salad? Let's try to sequence the events. Write the
numbers 1 to 4 to show the correct order of how to
make a fruit salad.
_______ Mix all the fruits together in a large
bowl.
_______Wash and peel the fruits (like apples,
bananas, and mangoes).
_______ Cut the fruits into small pieces.
_______ Add a little sugar or honey and stir well

Group 2: (Literacy)
Direction: Read the story carefully. After reading,
number the events from 1 to 4 to show the correct
order in which they happened.

Why the Tortoise Shell Is Not Smooth

A long time ago, Tortoise was known for his

cleverness and tricky ways. One day, he tricked
the birds into taking him to the sky for a grand
feast. However, when the birds found out about
his deceit, they became angry and decided to
punish him. They threw Tortoise out of the sky.
As he fell, Tortoise hit the ground hard, and his
shell shattered into many pieces. Though Tortoise
managed to gather the pieces and put them back
together, his shell never looked smooth again. It
remained bumpy and cracked as a reminder of his
trickery.

Sequencing Exercise:
Now, number the following events in the
correct order:

___ The birds threw Tortoise out of the

sky.
___ Tortoise’s shell shattered into many
pieces when he hit the ground.
___ Tortoise tricked the birds into taking
him to the sky for a feast.
___ Tortoise’s shell remained bumpy and
cracked forever.

G. GENERALIZATION
Let's go back to our activity using the KWL
chart. Earlier, we completed the K (Know) and W
(Want to know) columns. Now, we will list what
you have learned about sequencing of events in
the L (Learned) column. You will have 3 minutes
to finish the third column. After that, I will ask 2-3
students to share what they have listed in the
Learned column.
IV. EVALUATION
Direction: Do you know how to brush your teeth properly? Let’s try to sequence the steps. Write

_____ Brush your teeth for at least two minutes, making sure to brush all areas.

Today, her nephew, Paolo, was coming to see her and take her out to the river on a boat.
They would float in the river just like ducks.
When Paolo came, he was wearing a baseball cap."I hate baseball caps," he said. "But it
will
keep the sun off my head.
"Then 1'Il get my umbrella," said Aunt Fely. "Just in case it gets too hot.
The boat ride was just like a dream come true for Aunt Fely as she watched the riverbank
