TRENT XWB MODULAR BREAK DOWN
 LP Compressor Module
The LP Compressor Module (Module 31) is located at the front of the engine and
is responsible for driving the LP compressor blades. It consists of the fan disc, LP
compressor shaft, and fan air seal. The fan disc holds the fan blades in place using
22 dovetail slots and is bolted to the LP compressor shaft via a curvic coupling.
The LP compressor shaft, attached to the disc, includes a phonic wheel for
monitoring speed and connects to the LP turbine with a helical splined coupling.
The fan air seal, located behind the disc, features a 5-fin labyrinth seal to manage
bearing loads and maintain an aerodynamic line between the LP and IP
compressors
    Spinner
The spinner assembly, located at the front of the engine, guides air into the LP
compressor and deflects debris. It includes the spinner and support ring. The
conical, black-painted spinner, coated with polyurethane to prevent erosion and
ice formation, features a white line for rotation indication and a rubber tip for de-
icing. It attaches to the LP compressor disc via a support ring with MORTORQ
screws and bolts. The support ring also holds the spinner forward module and LP
compressor blade trim balance weights.
