this Advisory is issued for the information of the DepEd officials,
personnel/staff, as well as the concerned public.
13TH NATIONAL SCIENCE QUEST
The Association of Science Educators in the Philippines (ASEP) will conduct its 13th National Science Quest from
February 5 to 7, 2016 at the J.J. Liedo Memorial National High School, Calapan City in Region IV-B (MIMAROPA).
The schedules of Competition at the different levels are as follows:
1. Division Level - July to September 2015
2. Regional Level - October to December 2015
3. National Level - February 5-7, 2016
The Competition aims to promote academic excellence in Science and create camaraderie and sportsmanship
among students, pupils and coaches.
The participants are the following:
Category Participant
Science, Mathematics, Techno ¾ First and second place division/regional winners at the elementary
and Environmental Quiz (Grades 1-6) pupils and secondary (Grades 7-10) students
(Individual and Team) ¾ First and second place division/regional (Individual and Team
Categories) winners of the Science, Math, Techno and Environmental
Quiz at the elementary level (by grade level from Grades 1 to 6) and
secondary level (by year level from Grades 7 to 10) from both public
and private schools
Science Fair ¾ First and second place division/regional winners at the elementary
(Nursery, Kindergarten and level (Individual and Team Categories) for Applied and Life Science
Preparatory (NKP), Elementary and from both public and private schools
Secondary) ¾ First and second place division/regional winners at the secondary
level (Individual and Team Categories: Clusters 1 and 2) from both
public and private schools
¾ First and second place winners at the school level for the Kiddie
Science Fair for NKP, Grades 1-2
Science Intervention Materials (SIM), ¾ First and second place division/regional winners for elementary and
Science Investigatory Projects (SIP) and secondary teachers from both public and private schools
Improvisation
On-the-Spot Painting and Collage Making ¾ First and second place division/regional winners at the elementary
(Grades 1-6) and secondary (Grades 7-10) levels, and teachers and
parents’ category from both public and private schools
Robotics, Sci-Cheer, Jingle Making,
TugSayawit/Sayawit and Sci-Speech ¾ First and second place division/regional winners (with Science
Choir implications) at the elementary and secondary levels
(Elementary and Secondary Levels)
Sci-Modern Tech., Sci-Folk, Creative ¾ First and second place division/regional winners at the elementary
Modeling, Sci-Writing (Filipino and and secondary levels from both public and private schools (with
English) and Impromptu Speaking Science implication)
Search for Ginoo at Binibining Kalikasan ¾ First and second place division/regional winners at the elementary
Search for Little Prince and Princess and secondary levels from both public and private schools.
Rubik’s Cube Game, Damath, Sci-Doku ¾ First and second place division/regional winners at the elementary
Challenge, Mathematics and Science and secondary levels and teachers from both public and private
Trail, Sci-Dama, Sci-Chess and schools
Sudoku ¾ Parents and teachers will play Power Patrol and Electro Sci-Dama
Coaches, advisers, regional and division supervisors, ASDS, SDS, assistant chiefs, school heads, district
supervisors, principals, winners and other Science enthusiasts are advised to attend this activity.
All regional Science supervisors and ASEP officers shall be at the venue on February 3, 2016 for the finalization
of Terms of Reference (TOR).
