        FOREST
                    INTRODUCTION
forests are areas where most of the species of flora and fauna are
found per square kilometer. It is the lungs of the planet that take
up the carbon dioxide released by the animals and give oxygen
to the environment. Forests are defined as the areas of lands that
grow various species of trees, plants, shrubs, herbs. The
importance of forest and its conservation can be understood by
the commodities it provides. The forest serves as a natural
habitat of numerous animal species, it helps in balancing the
impact of carbon emission, it helps in global temperature
regulation. Apart from it forest also maintains the various
biogeochemical cycle. Forests are the primary source of many
medicinal plants, woods, food, raw materials, and fabrics.
CONSERVATION OF FOREST
           CONSERVATION OF FOREST
Conservation of forests is the practice of saving the trees that are
cut by industries and other organizations in the name of
development and urbanization. It is planting new trees and taking
care of them.
These following steps should be undertaken to conserve forest
• Massive afforestation work should be undertaken to cover large
areas of land with useful plants. For example they are planted
along the highways and rivers, around the playgrounds and
  parks.
• Forest fire should be prevented. Huge forest areas are destroyed
by fire every year. Fire may caused due to carelessness of the
people or by natural methods. People should avoid smoking and
  cooking in the forest areas.
• Overgrazing by cattle, horses, sheep's and goats should be
prevented. What is grazing? Put cattle , sheep, goats etc. to feed
  on grassland.
• Forest must be protected from insects and pest. The infected
plants should be removed or treated with suitable pesticides.
• All activities leading to soil erosion should be controlled.
• Air water and soil pollution should be reduced so that the trees
and other vegetarian can survive and develop in the forest.
• People should be made aware of the impacts of the forest on
their life through advertisements , TV, radio and plays.
• Existing laws to protect national parks, wildlife sanctuaries
and biosphere reserves should be properly implemented.
IMPORTANCE OF FOREST
Forests are the precious natural resources gifted by mother
Earth. Many factors influence life in the forest, such as air,
                    water, sunlight, etc.
               IMPORTANCE OF FOREST
• Wood for domestic and commercial use
• Products like honey are given by forests
• Use for cattle's breeding because of this milk increases.
• Absorb carbon dioxide and help in controlling air pollution
• Meet nearly 40% of energy needs of the country.
• Forests control soil erosion flood control etc...
• Increase ground water.
ECOSYSTEM
                         ECO SYSTEM
A forest ecosystem is a functional unit or a system which comprises
of soil, trees, insects, animals, birds, and man as its interacting units.
A forest is a large and complex ecosystem and hence has greater
species diversity.
A forest ecosystem, similar to any other ecosystem, also comprises
of abiotic and biotic components. Abiotic components refer to
inorganic materials like air, water, and soil. Biotic components
include producers, consumers, and decomposers.
These components interact with each other in an ecosystem and
thus, this interaction among them makes it self-sustainable.
                   CONCLUSION
Trees and plants in the forest are an integral part of the
ecosystem. It sustains life on the planet, provides clean air
and shelter. Also, forests help conserve biodiversity.
Therefore, we must ensure that we conserve forests and
wildlife.
