GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Please reach the Venue for the XET 2024 at least 40 minutes prior to the commencement of your entrance test.
2. ALL questions are to be answered in the computer provided at the Centre. This is a computer based test.
3. Candidates are advised to carry only the following items with them into the examination venue:
Printout of the Admit Card emailed to the registered candidates by St. Xaviers College, Mumbai.
Signature of the candidate on the Admit card must be done in the Presence of the Invigilator/Supervisor at the Centre and not
prior.
Photo Identity Proof (Aadhar Card /Passport /PAN card /Driving License) in Original.
A transparent Ball Point Pen (Black or Blue) for working on rough sheet.
Nonprogrammable scientific calculator or a simple calculator is allowed for BMS, BSc (IT), MSc BDA and MSc Biotech
entrance tests

4. Paper for rough Work:


4-5 Blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination Hall/Room.
Candidates must write their name and XET 2024 application no. at the top of the sheet and must return the sheets without
fail, before leaving the examination Hall/Room.
Failure to do so may result in non-evaluation of your answers.

5. Smartwatch is not allowed.


6. Any type of electronic device is not allowed (except non programmable or simple calculators).
7. Phones are not allowed. You can leave them in your bag during the entrance test.
8. Headphones are not allowed
9. Personal transparent water bottle if required (No steel bottles allowed)
10. Unfair means of any kind noticed and reported by the supervisors at the centre will be dealt with according to the University
Guidelines for such malpractices. Candidates found guilty of such malpractice will be disqualified from the admission process.
INSTRUCTION REGARDING QUESTION PAPER & MARKING SCHEME

1. Multiple Choice Questions (objective type questions of 1 mark each) (Online Computerized test)
2. Each question has its own set of instructions.
3. Read each question before attempting the answer.
4. All the questions are having 4 answer options of which only 1 is to be selected unless otherwise indicated.
5. There is only one correct answer for each of the question unless indicated otherwise.
6. Duration of online examination is 90 minutes for MSc Biotech and BSc (IT).
7. Duration of online examination is 120 minutes for BMS, BAMCJ, MSc BDA.
8. SWD students will get an additional 30 mins for a 90 minute paper and an additional 40 minutes for a 120 minutes
paper.
9. Marks will be allotted for attempted questions only
10. There will be no negative marking
11. Instruction for Login and attempting test papers :
Enter your user name and password mentioned on admit card.
Select your test from dropdown list and click on SIGN IN button.
The count down timer at the top right corner of the screen will start the count down only when you click on
SIGN IN button. Right corner of the screen will display left out time to closure from where you can monitor
time you have to complete the exam.
Click one of the answer option buttons which you feel appropriate will be automatically saved.
To change an answer, simply click on the desired option button.
Click on NEXT button for moving to the next question. The next question will automatically be displayed.
To go to a question, click on the question number in the Question Palette on the bottom side of the screen by
clicking the Questions Button.
Only the answered questions (saved) will be considered for calculating the final score.
When the time left becomes 0, then your assessment will be submitted by default, and you will not be able to
make any changes.
Do Not PRESS any keyboard key once the exam is started. This will LOCK your exam. You can contact the
exam invigilator to unlock and continue giving the exam.
If there is a power failure or network problem while candidate is attempting the exam, Candidate can login
again after the problem is resolved and continue the Exam. Candidate will be allocated the remaining time
and the remaining un- attempted questions.
If Candidate closes the exam window without ending the test, his/her result will not be considered.
Once the examination ends or if the candidate clicks on the SUBMIT button, he/she will not be able to
attempt it again. Candidate needs to complete the exam in mentioned time only. Extension in time is not
allowed.
